Carlos,
Congrats. We did the same kind of things when we were young marrieds / getting our family started and established. There are still many, many luxeries we do not have that modern america has. It is also overwhelming to me the amount of money we spend on our teen kids, who are by all intents and purposes walking around with portable offices. I know this is all relative as we are guilty of much indulgence. But we take a lot of heat from folks on being so conservative. Compared to my childhood, what my kids have in my eyes is a lot, so it is funny to me when folks tease me for being a tight wad. For example, when we were kids our bed room was our bonus room. Kids went to their room to play - not a seperate great room. Likewise, we did not have personal cell phones (it wasn't on the market yet - I know, I'm old); rather, we simply used the family land line. And sometimes even dialed our numbers, as in litterally, dialed the number around the circle. Anyway, all that to say, I am really proud of you. We spent many years taking turns with our single car with one of us riding the bus and we are the better for it.
Blessings,
Roxanne

Now I am on pins and needles - this is such a joy to watch. So glad I found you. When the call comes it is going to be thrilling. How old is Samuel? Of all the things we packed for China, Cheerios were the most critical. They helped with the bonding process because Julia would sit in our lap and eat them one by one. Oh this is brining back memories.

I wonder what folks like Angie, Alece, and Kristi think when they watch this kind of dialogue. Even our worst is still the rest of the world's better.

My elastic is tight these days - all buttons to be popped have popped, but did walk 4 miles today so yeah me!
On another note, I heard this best upcoming artist this weekend… our church hosted Jason Gray… he was incredible (but of course not as incredible as your singing :0)… he deals with a stuttering handicap, but sings amazing… if you link below & click on the left where it says “Launch Juke Box” you can hear one of my favorite songs he sang called, “Losers”… it’s whimsical and incredibly meaningful all at the same time… happy Monday!!!

Los,
We had the same gig with Julia. We also added the humidifier. But the thing that worked the best was this product, "OCEAN GEL." It's a moisturizing gel for all ages. Our friends we're having the same issue, tried it, and swear by it. I'll go to Heather's site and tell her too.
Blessings,
Roxx

in Pastor’s Should Not Be Paid…Or Should They? on brent(inWorship)
What, huh?
I worry about under paid pastors. How will they retire. Send kids to college? Ministry does not = the rest of us going about our business receiving their ministry while pastors have nothing. I think we are supposed to take care of them and honor them for their time of service towards we their flock. The stuff on TBN with all the pastor bling and ammusement park who ha, well, that is obviously out of balance and has done us no favors. But keeping pastors up with the standard of living, supporting them to be in homes, safe cars, med ins., etc., is in my opinion what we should strive for. Thats just me.

Of course if I was with out God I'd be as confused as pigs on ice. On a lighter note, I love my dog. She gives me/our fam a lot of calm. Even though she is a spaz sometimes. :0)
