in Are you using Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter differently? on Mr Tweet Blog
twitter for me, ironically, is more private because people who really know who i am is only a select handful. most of my other followers don't know me personally. so i can rant and whine and gripe which i cannot do on facebook because i have colleagues, students and other people on there.
i have two twitter account, one for my work and one for my personal ranting. but ironically again my rant twitter account has more followers. in fact, ive made a lot of new friends from all over the world via twitter conversations. on the other hand, on facebook even though i have "strangers" adding me, no real conversation really kicks up. That's because its hard to keep track of all the 800 people i have on my facebook. in terms of twitter-facebook merge, i only display my work twitter account on facebook and not my personal one. I do not dare to enable status synch either because i think facebook has a different purpose and the way to use facebook is a tad different too. I reach a more "local" crowd on facebook.
i mainly use facebook for work. with groups and pages, it can be very effective. work in this case is mostly environmental outreach and advocating.
linkedin is totally for business/work only. in fact, i don't expect much from it but since i got contacted through linkedin recently, i've a changing perspective of its use. still exploring.

in Flickr video? Yeah, you’ve got 90 seconds to comply… on theory.isthereason
ok this is uber bad.... your meme is extreme user-unfriendly. photobooth with video only exist for LEOPARD users. I am still on OSX, not leopard so my photobooth is only version 1.2 as opposed to the leopard version which is 2.0.1

in My EPIC-FAIL virtual panelist experience for Start-Up @ Singapore on theory.isthereason
What do you do in such a dire situation?
I realized that I ended up smiling a lot on camera. :D
It helped that you were facially expressive. more than just smiling, the exaggerated gestures helped you connect to the audience even though you didn't know how they were responding. that helped a lot! i think it engaged the young people around me. They laughed. Think they thought you were quirky cool. And of course tickertape helped. But towards the end it got disruptive and I think the timing was excellent when you chose to remove it. Ended off with a bang :) great job in the face of adversity ;)

in No time to blog? Why you should start your own lifestream… on theory.isthereason
i agree that jaiku is smart if you are starting from scratch. but since i already went through the hassle of setting up twitterfeed, now jaiku seems like anticlimax. But I'm still keeping my mind open about jaiku. I like the clustering feature especially. But I am unsure why jaiku is not picking up my new blog and twitter posts since I added the feeds. Meanwhile I'm shopping for a better way to manage all my thoughts with a better lifestream.

in Journalism 2.0 by CNN’s news anchor Kristie Lu Stout @ NUS on theory.isthereason
oh wow im a "multi talented environmentalist" *blush* haha you're too kind.
But I do agree with DK and I'll probably just reply to his comment on my blog here - who is going to be the watchdog of citizen journalists? gosh I guess that's like advertorials in mainstream media - nobody's stopping them either! But I think it boils down to individual ethics but with MSM, being a corporation it's easy to jump on their ethics but with 6.1 billion people on earth, how do we ensure synchronized standards of ethics? difficult.
I did discuss this with Kristie privately about bloggers having to do fact-checking and the conclusion is that it's hard. I try to do so but I constantly worry about misrepresenting and Otterman (Siva) is often on my case about fact checking too! haha

OMG! I can't believe how lucky you are to accidentally stumble upon titoudao but got treated with a glimpse of Mdm Oon and son! wow wow wow! originally i wanted to book the last show then I realise I heard the wrong date and then they extended the show. Sigh. Still I watched it with my bf on our anniversary who wasn't local and it was really a cultural exchange moment. couldn't have asked for a better play to watch to learn more about singapore in those days... i did spend a lot of time translating hokkien to english lol but the subtitle boards were a great help though limited

i can imagine a kway lapis of glass tops in a very short time...
For this test the aim is to see if we tend to communicate with friends in physical geography over virtual geography, especially on the Internet where we are afforded the ability to form relationships regardless of distance.
For instance, your CowboyBar cluster should exist (virtual place), but your real-world location's network clusters are more dense.
Events can happen both virtually and physically... thus fair game. As we can see, your physical location networks are more persistent.
