I think this is very natural as people find they can make a little money or they find their niche doesn't work on their own website they branch out an make more. But eventually you run out of time to keep everything up! Good luck with choosing where to focus your energy, thats a hard one.

I would be surprised if it moved your Alexa much but only because you already have the traffic. For small sites the Entrecard effect is real. Still, it can't be a bad thing to bring new readers like myself to your blog. Good luck with the experiment.

These are all great plugins and the help the community if you ask me. The key is you will need to do more moderation because you will get more spammers. But if you can get a few new readers then all the better!

Writing about other blogs is a great strategy for building loyal readership. This is something I do on some of my blogs but I should be doing on all of them.

I don't think they are far off there (even though the obviously have a vested interest for saying it.) I suspect a lot of people with part time blogs will start getting more serious about it if they no longer have a job to worry about.
