You can be a City fan and still be uncomfortable with the takeover. Abu Dhabi have already demonstrated that

a) they will say reckless things about other players less than a week into ownership, which has already muddied the waters for future transfer deals.

and

b) they don't care about the club; they're in it for the glory of Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi alone. If I were a City fan, I might be a little perturbed about my club being used as a pawn in a tale of two cities.

England won two nil. They parked eleven men in front of net, Joe found a way through, the end. I'm no Ingerland apologist, but if it had been Italy or France, none of this would have even been talked about. At all. Period.

The longer England fans expect to see Brazil-like performances, including ten-nil scorelines against the minnows, the heavier the cross self-hating England fans seem to want to bear.

Football's not all about television and entertainment. Why change everything because you might find Turkey v. Slovakia a bit boring? England duds have been around a lot longer than Setanta PPV.

If anything, FIFA should make the World Cup HARDER to qualify for. And England, judging by the past forty years, are owed absolutely nothing as far as qualification matches go.

Once you get over how entirely unethical it is, Justin Tv does the trick very nicely. Only football is not meant to be watched on a grainy laptop with the musings of a thousand 14 year-old wannabe xenophobes commenting non-stop right beside the picture. I have a giant mac so full-screen ruins it.

The Cahill tackle deserved a red. Certainly not all Premier League refs would have given it, but it was well within Riley's rights to give it. The Everton supporters didn't seem too miffed about it. I have to say, the only decision worth mentioning this week was Rob Styles 'penalty' decision against Bolton...pathetic.

If you don't like the article there'll be plenty more down the pipe; torrents of abusive bile on one author's take will not yield yet another flat, rehashed match-report, no matter how many vile things you anonymously type. If you want turgid, stale analysis, there's plenty to go around at the BBC. But I'm glad to know who's been commenting on Justin TV all this time...
