in Advertising and Trust on Chris Brogan
Hi Chris,

I had to do a lot of hard work to get here ( So many pages of comments to scroll through :) ) . In my opinion there is no loss of trust or credibility and this post is a classic example of how to clarify points to the community

I am a email subscriber so i see your post as one of the first emails I get every morning, When I saw the Epay post, i did not even lookat it as a Sponsored post but read it to see if i have any use for EPay. Knowing you and credibility you have with me I am sure and expect your blog will only contain posts about products or services that you have experienced or believe in. ( sponsored or otherwise) This is tongue in cheek but if you write about anti virus software ( sponsored or not) I will buy that brand. Just like I would buy things that Kim Komando recommends.

Thanks again for being there and advising me for free when I had questions at a cost of your personal time.

Best Regards,

Shashi

in Thank You Sheraton Four Points on Chris Brogan
Chris,

It is always good to recognize the good thngs that companies do and encourage them.Thank you for posting this. Water is a fav peeve of mine in hotels. Four Points deserves kudos. Marriott seems to have different policies in different hotels. One Marriott had a bottle for free at the Seattle Marriott the Bell desk gave me several bottles for free. Whoever gives me water will certainly earn my business and in terms of cost .50 cents vs the $100 to $200 you pay for a room. I am not even going to bring up US airways and its $2 for water even on a 5 hour flight.

in The Matter of Scale on Chris Brogan
Hi Chris,

Great point on how to scale a perosnal relationship. I agree with Dan thorton on expand your team. We have done that at m I am amazed at how you manage to stay personal with so many channels and messages that must be coming at you. What's the mantra?

Are you going to be at Pubcon next month?

Hi Lisa,

I almost jumped from my chair and almost danced with joy at being mentioned on your podcast :).
Shawn Collins organized a great conference and I learnt a lot from all the panels inclouding mine.
One trick I have is ,I always travel with a 20 slide presentation just in case any conference needs a last minute replacement :) I have used it once .

Thanks,

Shashi

in A Flickr Project for Everybody on Chris Brogan
Chris,

I think I knew this blog post was coming so I started this project ahead of time a few months ago. http://www.flickr.com/photos/drbeachvacation/

Now to tag people thats a challenge sometimes if you take too many pictures. I guess i will burnt eh midnight oil after reading your post to tag them properly. Maybe Flickr will introduce a feature where I click a button and say the perosn's name and that will convert it to text a la Jott or utterz ;)

Just a thought not a sermon :) Nice post Chris and nice idea

in Be Sexier in Person on Chris Brogan
Chris,

I like the rockstar casual approach :). Do you think we can have a ranking system where we can score on the back of the cards of people we meet :

a) MIT : will be a millionaire in ten years
b) VC : Very creative person , his dreams will come true but don't know about the money
c) NP : No problem - nice person
d) NCG: need to contact again

Just some random thoughts.

Thanks for the news. I hope they get a good substitute and work things out. At a startup such things are not uncommon. The concern is that we are all getting so used to Twitter that hope nothing bad happens. :)

in The Beauty of PodCamp on Chris Brogan
Podcamps are great to spread the knowledge. This is my second one , first one being podcamp edu and I learnt a lot from both. The beauty is also the time that people donate to help others. Thanks for helping start this off.

I read the readers digest and the national geographic. While they are online and connect their articles to online content they should do more interactive stuff.

Initiating more people into Social Media

We have to bridge the gap between the users/practitioners of the social media and the non-users. What is the best way to do this? What caution do we adopt to prevent them from running the other way.

I like the requirement that you should blog about it. Another requirement is that there should always be beer later :)

Good idea. One thing I wills ay is that we need to bring together a few of the other groups togehter so that we don't have too many splinter groups.

in Writing More Effective Email on Chris Brogan
Hi Chris,

We think alike. I have had my share of bosses and as soon as I move to their fiefdom I train them on my email subject lines.
ACT : need an answer ASAP
ARTICLE INFO: Something that I saw online read at your leisure.
INFO : CCing you on something that u have a choice to read or ignore
BREAKING NEWS: All hell is breaking loose we need to talk
JOKE: Sending you a PJ please do not read in a meeting.

Usually ACT and Joke gets me the quickest response :)

Cheers !

Shashi
( PS: I can only hope my bosses don't read the comments . Well if they do they can pormote me for efficiency and thinking outside the box)
