in List and status of UK Local Council Twitters on 24th March 2009 on Local Government Engagement Online Research
Hi Liz,
Hope you're feeling better and are basking in your futuregov win glory?

Medway Council's now actively using twitter:
www.twitter.com/medway_council is the main account with all info

www.twitter.com/castleconcerts is our test of a campaign specific use of twitter - to see how it works if we segment our twitter audience, rather than expecting everyone that signs up to want everything

cheers

in Stupid RSS Tricks - Aggregate and Filter on Duct Tape Marketing
You could also filter the generated RSS feed using something like www.feedrinse.com or www.blastfeed.com, but the quality of the results is only as good as the filtering keywords/set-up!

in Stupid RSS Tricks - Aggregate and Filter on Duct Tape Marketing
Hi John,

You could also automate step 1 by setting up an RSS feed for a specific search term on technorati - eg I use this feed to track mentions of my name:

http://feeds.technorati.com/search/simon+wakeman

If you set up several of these for different keywords, you could then mash these up using something like www.feedblendr.com, and then use your step four onwards.

The results would automatically appear, but wouldn't be filtered so the occasional odd result might sneak in

in Social Media Optimization and Social Media Marketing on Social Media Blog by Michael Brito
Hi Michael,

Thanks for the link.

Your distinction between SMM and SMO makes sense to me - in the same way that most marketers would know the difference between website marketing (using website as a marketing tool) and website optimisation (making a website as effective as possible).

in Content, Contact, Community - A Simple, Universal Business Startegy on Duct Tape Marketing
Hi John,

Yes definitely - although nowadays I'm not sure there are many businesses that should be exclusively offline.

The 3 C's work for offline, online and multichannel (the latter being the most common) marketing businesses. Technology is a great enabler for the C's, especially community.

Really good base for a web strategy for any business that is getting into digital marketing.

I can't think of any type of business that this wouldn't be relevant to, plus it's simple and flexible enough to work with clients who are new to the web and digital marketing.

Great stuff - thanks
