It IS voluntary and if people want or have the time (not I) to commmit to debugging...Then have at it.  Also, in some small way, SolidWorks does "pay"...with prizes. A few of my colleagues swear by them.  As a general rule of thumb, I don't use them.  They are often more trouble than they are worth.
