Hey Jamie, thanks for dropping by. I made a bit of an improvement by the end of the training sessions, but there's always going to be room for improvement!
Errrms are a big one for me too. I'm trying to work out something to replace them with and I'm just pausing for a bit each time at the moment (errrming in my head, rather than out loud). This gives me a chance to work out where to go next without looking too obvious :)
I'll drop by and check out your videos, I won't be looking out for the errms though!

Thanks for your comments, John. I enjoyed reading your GTD posts, particularly how well you find Nozbe fits your workflow. Nozbe is probably the next system I'll have a close look at, mainly because of it's accessibility, like Remember The Milk. I'm having a look at GTDAgenda at the moment, but I really need ubiquitous access to my system. Leveraging Evernote is another thing on my list to try, as it looks pretty amazing.
I just wish Jott was available in Australia! As one of your commenters pointed out, this would really help with systems like Nozbe, Twitter and RTM. I can't wait to get my hands on an iPhone too, should make using these systems even easier...

That's an awesome article, David:
"...before placing a satellite transmitter around the neck of the beast, firmly gluing it on with his own testosterone..."
Yeah, Palin scares me a bit. I'm pretty sure if she shot you while hunting, you're not coming home anytime soon. I'll be happier if she just stays in Alaska for the timebeing, I think.

Hey Chris, thanks for the comment. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the series. For me, the change after introducing GTD has been pretty incredible, particularly given how skeptical I was to begin with.
I hope this series helps someone else in the same way!

@Bob: I just got the standard English kip version, but the photos above are from the website so I would imagine that the second one is the Chocolate finish. Looks quite nice actually. I'll take a photo of mine soon and post it for a comparison.

Hi Jukka. I think it's pretty cool actually, but I feel its uses are quite limited due to data cost and battery life, unfortunately.
There's no way I could leave this running when roaming, as I would have to pay a fortune to my provider. That's not a problem when I get home and back to my WLAN, but that drains battery like anything so isn't much of an option either.
Therefore, I'd still lean towards a s60 program that would let me moblog to a hosted website, rather than host one on the phone itself.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the Nokia Web Server site though, it seems there's a few great things coming out of the Beta Labs at the moment.

Hey Molly,
I think the only reason The Age mentioned the site was because they could, and probably no one else had at that stage. If the Herald Sun could one up them by posting the torrent link, they probably would have. After the first day or so, most of these kind of stories just become a circus between the media outlets.
No surprise that the account was banned, although only one of the three videos was offensive. I'm sure that they'll keep reappearing though.

That's what you get for tempting fate I guess! Still, we're in Phuket rather than Bangkok and there has been no indication of any unrest at all.
I might be a bit careful about making flippant comments to tempt fate!

in Bangkok Emergency on Popagandhi
We just got in to Phuket on Monday morning for two weeks and everything is remarkably sedate. Obviously Bangkok is where everything is going on, but people here don't seem too fussed whatsoever. It's reassuring that there hasn't been any violence or any major uprising. It seems to be a very organised and calm coup d'etat, which usually would seems to be a bit of an oxymoron.

Yeah, it's getting ridiculous. I still managed to post on the wibbleboard, but now it seems that every board I go to has been taken over, and not a small amount of websites as well. What a bastard.

Hi Daniel, the best way to find it is to go to Mininova.org and search for 'vista public'. There's a few other leaked betas there, but I'd stick to the public release.
Good luck!

Yep, that was the one I was thinking of, pretty amazing. There's another huge one on the roof of a warehouse or similar somewhere, but I can't remember where.

True, but these bimbos can hand out leaflets like nobodies business. Clearly a cut above the rest...

The trams are a mixed blessing. They beat the hell out of catching a bus - they're easier to catch, stops are more obvious, and usually avoid the hassles of traffic. For getting around the city in particular, they are definately my preference.
However, they can be slow and a bit jerky and pale in comparison to a train. Catching one for miles can also be a bit of a drag.
Melbourne's public transport is a three tiered system: You catch a train to get somewhere, get a tram anywhere in between rail lines and catch a bus to places not covered by a tram. The system does need an overhaul, as it is not as effective as it should be and has been particularly bad recently. Melbourne's population is simply too sprawled out for operators to make a profit and that makes it hard for them to invest in the system in return. Thankfully, it's fairly easy to understand and the ticketing is relatively straight forward.
As for avoiding the city while the Games are on, I wouldn't be so hesitant. Most of the events are outside the main city area and there's no real need for people to cut through the city. If you aren't on a tram/train line that goes to one of the events, then you shouldn't be too bad. Just avoid the peak hour crushes and possibly Flinders St station if you can. If you're heading to Murmur, Stork, Loop or similar in the city, you should be fine, there just might be some extra tourists around town (plenty of Canadians probably!). Just work out how long your trip will take and flick on the iPod.
Interestingly, today was the first day of the Games and I had the best train/tram ride to work (peak hour) I've had in weeks. Go figure.

Not a lot actually, Raduza Mantego is the name of the Panamanian bad guy of an AR game that I took part in ages ago. I started using it on a messageboard relating to the game and just kind of kept it. It's all been archived at http://www.deltaonezero.com/

Yeah, that's pretty cool. I like the superb work of the Melbourne stencillers, they continue to amaze me. And there's always 'Dolphins are people too'...
