in Reiterating the Focus on Collaboration on LdnBeta
So should we set up an install of Wordpress MU for folks to use? It's got some cool social things in the back end. I'm more then happy to move BlogLDN to it as the master blog and let folks set up their own http://XXX.blogldn.com site!

For projects like this I think it's a great idea! You could try something like Poll Daddy or even just use a Form from Google Docs. With Google Docs you can even get more elaborate questions!

If someone wants to start they should just start. Jump in and go! Grab a wordpress.com or hell even blogger account and start posting.

I can't tell you how many people, back when podcasting was young, would tell me that they have a few shows recorded and they just want to wait until the sound is perfect to release. I'd almost blow my top at that. The point isn't about perfection, it's about getting it out there and starting a conversation. Even if it's about your spelling and grammer!

Their next step should be coming out to a meetup, or a podcamp, or even just inviting a local blogger they admire for a coffee (better yet beer, it always works!).

Wait until Dan gets in and approves his comments but I'm thinking of launching a podcast/roundtable thing to feature blogs, podcasts, vlogs etc.

Looking for "cohosts" or show regulars.

Oh and I completely missed half my point!

The reason I'm fascinated with print stuff is because there is a lot of reach and people find something that is delivered in that form to hold far more credibility!

I had the idea about making a newspaper from the Spark Podcast! It's doable. It would be the same model that Londoner in the Wednesday Free Press is.

And over the past few months I've really been encouraged to push more connecting events out there. When the meetup thing started it was honestly because I wanted to meet people and no one else was stepping up to the plate to do it. Same deal with PodCamp!

Oh and watch out for a lot more VERY cool Social Media Events in London. From the meetings Titus and I have had surrounding pclo in the past few weeks there is going to be a lot of tangential things coming up! Some of them are the reason I've been so late commenting!

First off Eric, that was a post from Digg, I didn't mean to post it here, I meant to post it to my own blog, I just checked the wrong box from Digg.

Second I didn't write the headline, just the comment in the body of the post here. And I'm pretty sure the 3000+ diggs on the original story agree with the wording of the title!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, next time to add a bit of credibility to your critique why not tell us where you write!

Zemanta (http://www.zemanta.com/welcome/wordpress/), another wordpress plugin, is also worth a check, it scans your post content and gives you an easy way to link keywords to other sites like if you talk about Facebook it'll show you the links to Facebok directly as well as to the Wikipedia article on FB. It also give's you images "related" to your post content. Not great for deep linking your site but handy for making some outgoing links!

I'm no expert and it's hard to tell from the video but I think it's a "Northern Cardinal"

You should check out CastRoller for managing and streaming podcasts. It has social features to allow you to connect with friends and see what they are listening to, and filters to filter audio from video as well as based on AideRSS's post ranking. It's in invite only beta right now but I have a bunch of invites if anyone wants some! Email me at mashable@deys.ca if anyone wants one!

in Blog Topics for Business to Business Customers on Chris Brogan
Great advice, I've got a bookmark on it to come back in the fall. I've been thinking about blogging for work and I plan to get it up and going in the fall. Swimming is seasonal here in Canada and I don't have time to set it up let alone write now! In our case our business is B2B but I think the blog will likely only get a small number of business reading, we hear about home owners researching online all the time and I'm guessing I'll see better response talking to them directly and referring interest to our core customers. I do know a group of my customers though that are online and I hope to build that up! Thanks

in Win me a Flip Camera on Medium & the Message
Their only in Canada at Wal-Mart, I got one here in London. I hate shopping there but I got one. I'm underwhelmed so far, it is super simple and the in thing right now but if I had to recommend a camera the Canon SD1000 is about the same price and you get a great compact point and shoot still camera that produces good video and you can swap memory cards in.

That sucks! Not much else to say except to wish you all the best in the battle. Nothing brings a family together like serious illness and that is when the true colours show. By the sounds of it you guys will band together to help each other make the best of a terrible situation and learn from it. In times like these sometimes you learn most about others and yourself, you have to look on the positive side and learn that lesson and grow! My thoughts are with you and the family.

in Giving blood on Medium & the Message
Your enthusiasm is awesome. It's a great thing to give blood, I'd love to get back and do it but I had a couple bad experiences with it and the nurses didn't want to see me back. I did pass out so both times, and I mean full out fall off the chair pass out. They are good about it but I don't like it. Maybe I'll try again in the future but I'm going to wait a while. Hope you do OK there!

in Thoughts for Future PodCamps on Chris Brogan
No doubt Ryerson has to be the best location to host and serve the needs of a group like us! I had an amazing time and it was so different then last year. I loved how many people there were not podcasters or bloggers. I love being asked questions and being able to talk about the stuff I love to do. I found more of that then at any other conference. I also presented for my first time. Vergel Evans and I threw together a last minute session on the mechanics of video podcasting. The reactions I got were better then my own feelings of the session so I'm super encouraged to do it again next time I get a chance. I also found it interesting that the word "monetize" didn't come up as often as in the past and I don't think there was a session dedicated to it. We may be seeing a new shift! Anyways it was super cool to hang out with you again Chris hope to do it again sometime soon!

in My Twitter and Flickr tutorials are no more on Dave Delaney : Dave Made That
I'd host (and I do) on blip.tv. It's podcast friendly! They'll give you a flash player and link to the original file so you can put it on your site and podcast feed! I don't know if they will accept a flash file though. If your on a Mac use Visual Hub, it's not free but it's amazing!

in Utterz vs. Jott on Dave Delaney : Dave Made That
I like the social side of utterz and the transcription service in Jott is amazing but being a podcaster if I'm going to use a service to post to my blog I NEED it to have a link to download an MP3. The best service I've found is PhoneBlogz. It is a paid service but it works well and I can make it look just like any other post in my podcast feed!

I think BryPer had a plugin that you could set a category to not show up on the front page and feed. http://www.bryper.com/2007/06/04/how-to-find-my...

in Should I Utter on Chris Brogan
I'm gonna give Utterz another look, I wasn't overly impressed last time I checked in with them. I will be using PhoneBlogz to post auido to my blog/podcast. It allows me to actually phone in audio and it gets posted on my blog and in my podcast feed!

in Which Tools for Which Job-Social Business Class on Chris Brogan
Hey Chris, a bit of an accessibility tip for audio podcasts. Install PodPress to help handle the audio files. It gives you a nice little flash player sorta like one for video. Also gives you a widget for your sidebar if you want! Otherwise love the work, hope to meet up with ya again at PodCamp Boston 2!

in The Financial Aid Podcast Can Now Legally Play BMI Covers on Financial Aid Podcast Weekly Internet Radio Show
It goes without saying that I am going to recommend that you play "Both Sides Now" by my good friends Uncle Seth! I'm looking forward to hearing some tunes! This is a step in the right direction, if more people do this it would raise awareness for podcasting. Too bad we can't get it together in Canada enough to do this!

in In a World of Warcraft, I Script Tetris on Christopher S. Penn's Awaken Your Superhero
I think most programmers are like that when they go at things alone. After the proof of concept is done and the resources are set aside a group of programmer can tackle a bunch of snacks to make a whole meal. I am a lone coder, for the little bit I actually get to do anymore, and I find that most of the functionality comes in little bit sized pieces that add up to make the whole project work.
