You are going to be able to catch and to read some of them but many others will just flow by unread. Anything truly important will probably reach you via one or more other channels anyway.

Re: Eating In Beijing

Alex knows his Beijing restaurants! We accompanied him to his first choice (Szechuan) earlier this week and I'll happily return to Beijing to try all of the others.

Re: 2006/01/25/printing-virtual-world-objects-on-your-desktop/

This is definitely cool, but did you know Fabjectory has been doing this for a while, in living color, for Second Life avatars, Mii characters, and Google SketchUp objects?

Re: The motherly instinct

Hi Robert,

In times like these, don't think of what you lose, remember all that you had, all that you gained, and treasure those memories. Pass them along to your children and keep your mom alive in their hearts. Celebrate the fact that she had a good life.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Re: Buy our house

Now that we have pictures of the interior of Scoble's house, the possibilities for Photoshopping are simply endless!

Someone get this to Fark, quick!

Re: Grassroots picking HD-DVD over BlueRay?

Robert, you might like http://www.thedvdwars.com/ . This site uses several metrics to compare the relative success of HD-DVD and Blu-ray. The metrics are all derived from data supplied by Amazon (disclaimer: that's my employer).

Re: Business card best practices

Best practices? Here are some of mine:

1 - Never leave home without a couple of business cards in an accessible pocket. Use this as your conversation starter, and spread it around as a good idea.

2 - If you keep your wallet in a rear pocket, don't keep your business cards there. Who wants a card that's been next to your butt? I certainly don't.

3 - If you write notes on the back of your cards, scribble out your name on the front as you do so, otherwise someone else will end up with your notes.

4 - If you find a card with notes on the back, track down the owner (using the info on the card :-) and get it back to them.

5 - Learn and respect the business card customs of the places that you visit. In Japan and Korea, make sure that you take care to do the little bit of gesturing and examination that takes place as cards are exchanged.

Re: Blogs and Digg, not geeky enough?

If you like the Digg model and you are looking for stuff that's relevant to developers, check out http://www.dzone.com .

Re: Hello from Cabo, Mexico…

Hi Robert, hope you and Maryam have a great time in Cabo.

I should tell you, that you are in a "quiet zone" that's more or less halfway between two really exciting places. You can head further south to the actual city of Cabo San Lucas, or you can head north to San Jose del Cabo.

The Westin looks nice from the outside, but there's virtually nothing else in the area to see or to do.

If you have the time, hop into a taxi and head to Cabo San Lucas. Ask the driver to take you to the restaurant La Golondrina (http://www.loscabosguide.com/restaurants/lagolo...) for a really good dinner.

Re: Pitch your biz plan to Richard Branson in 140 characters or less

Great idea, one that I first blogged about in 2007:

http://www.jeff-barr.com/?p=929

Re: Pitch your biz plan to Richard Branson in 140 characters or less

Great idea, one that I first blogged about in 2007:

http://www.jeff-barr.com/?p=929
