in Why I am Relying More on Index Futures Trading on Afraid to Trade Blog
Hi Corey,

Great post.

I want to learn more about index futures (e-mini) trading. I currently trade QQQQ with leverage through QID and QLD. I am very interested to learn more about the pros/cons of trading the E-minis vs. index ETFs and which strategies to consider. Are there any good blogs or books you recommend?

My current methodology involves using DMAC and basic price pattern recognition along with pivot points/support resistance and trendlines to establish entries/exits. I have found this approach to be profitable but it lends itself to a mechanical/automated approach rather than discretionary. I am curious what you think of Tradestation's automation features (EasyLanguage).

in SMH Semiconductor Analysis on StockRake
Has anyone looked into the divergence between SMH and QQQQ?

It looks like unless SMH confirms the QQQQ, there is room for a downside move in tech.

Watching it very closely.

Other sectors poised to drop lower...

I am looking at shorts on OIH and XLF. Short XLF especially if today's FOMC minutes reflect a "one and done" position vs. more rate cuts to come.

in Will China Restrict Its Decision to Let Locals Invest in Hong Kong’s Market and ETFs? on ETF Trends
I wonder if this is whats' behind the surge in FXI this week? People are jumping in before restrictions/quotas are put in. FXI has been gapping up almost daily.

in 5 Top ETFs for the Year So Far on ETF Trends
Actually, per WSJ.com data sources, the top 5 ETF's YTD are:

SRS +71.5%
SKF + 34.9%
SJH +28%
SLX + 23.9%
SCC +22.5%

SLX has slipped dramatically in the last month, while the ultra-shorts (SRS, SKF, SJH,SCC) have risen dramatically. Realize of course these shorts are probably not the best long term holdings as the market will reverse at some point wiping out those gains. They do make for some nice daytrades however! I predict that SLX will continue to slide as the global growth scenario has peaked and will level off and drift lower post-2008.
