Wow. Thanks for sharing that. I mean, Penn is always the kick in the butt kind of guy, but I never imagined he would be kicking my butt about my faith. Really, thanks!

I've been doing Weight Watchers since August, and I'm down 28 pounds. I still have 36 to go. I'm totally in with you and I agree that WW rocks. I love that we can eat anything as long as we budget for it.

I was waiting to see if this guy was the pastor and was going to preach on "loving your wife & family" or something! I remember one time before a wedding Jan and I got into a HUGE fight and then we went into the church and we were all smiles like nothing ever happened. I thought, "wow, we're good actors!"

On another note: Ben I found a blog I think you'll like if you haven't seen it. It's www.rhettsmith.com

Have a great day!

Hahaha! David you got me on that one! Yes, it WAS Steve McQueen in "The Great Escape." To my defense, I always did get the two actors confused...but...you got me!

"Cool Hand Luke" is also one of my all-time favorite movies. I especially like the famous egg eating scene and of course how Luke has to deal with the sadistic prison warden (whose character was resurrected in "Brother Where Art Thou?" - another one of my all-time faves).

I also liked Newman in "The Great Escape" - how he would sit in solitary confinement and throw that baseball against the wall. He was an American icon who will certainly be missed on the silver screen.

If we think we aren't that guy we are fooling only ourselves. My righteousness is as filthy rags, yet I choose to put my rags on every day instead of dress myself in the robes that He has bought for me. His clothing is so much better than mine, but I just don't seem to get it. Thanks for the reminder.

Lifeway is, I believe, somehow related to the Baptist denomination. I think that they want to be consistent in their doctrinal issues. To many of us this seems INconsistent, but the "powers that be" don't think so. I say just let it go instead of making a huge stink about it. We DO have way too many things to do on our time on Earth. Arguing this issue, which doesn't involve salvation, is just a waste of time. I'm just sayin'...

I think that, once again, the blue ruffles on the women really adds to the performance. I am impressed that someone can break it down in the blue suit and dress shoes. His hair is just a tad too long for a good Christian boy, don't you think? You better make sure he cuts it before the big performance in the park.

Also, you can bring your show to Mexico just as long as you have the vocal echos and the awesome keyboards with their translated signs, and I insist that you bring Phil Collins along with you.

If Chip comes dressed in his Partridge Family digs I want a picture - but make sure Melody has the ruffly blouse, please, and the lovely blue eye shadow. I want to hear that Rock and Roll!

Wow, I'm practically speechless! I will have to say that I love the bass, I love his wide open shirt, how he sings that he's singing "rock and roll" and the guitarists wonderful dancing. It's got a nice polka beat, Ben!

Oh yes, and those classy glasses and ruffled blue blouses. Mhm.

I think the whole story is really sad. The guy is forgiven by God if he has asked for it, but that doesn't erase the stuff he will have to reap for many years. I think about his family, I would be so ticked if I was his wife or parents, too much turmoil and lies. It will take years to regain their full trust, if it can ever be had again.

When our oldest was two, he proudly announced that he had written an "H" and "W".... where? On our new car! He had a rock and a few minutes of privacy as Greg mowed the lawn. Those letter stayed there until we sold the car.

in One of Earth’s Last Uncontacted Tribes Found on Live.Awake
Recently we took a group of Mexican Christians to the US for a short-term missions trip. We were invited to go to a little Baptist church for supper and to share testimonies with them. At the end of the service the pastor spoke to the church about how humbled he felt and that God had really blown his mind that night by showing him that God was using people from another culture.

You see, for so many years the church in America has been the sending church. Unfortunately, I see this many times with visiting groups to Mexico. They get this urgent mentality that if they don't do it, no one will. One has to be very careful not to be proud. Here in Mexico, the Christians are VERY capable of spreading the gospel. Not only capable, but they have a real love for their country and their people.

Does this mean that God has stopped calling outsiders to nations? By no means! If I believed that, I would be out of a place to live, minister, and work. He often uses foreigners to bring a different perspective and to teach from their successes and mistakes. It doesn't make us any better, just different.

So, my first inclination is to say, find Brazilian Christians to share with this tribe. I guess, though, above all, we must pray for the workers to go into this harvest field and support them, whoever they are!

I wonder if any of them have ever left? Are they living with another tribe that has perhaps heard the gospel? Wouldn't it be better coming from one of their own? I have lots of questions, but pretty much no answers. I wouldn't want to send in white missionaries to teach them to wear clothing and sing "Lord I lift your name on high" with their powerpoint projectors. I'm not sure WHAT should be done.

Thank you so much! I enjoyed looking at the pics and saved several along with the program so I can not be bored with my wallpaper. That happens too often, and I was so tired of having to change my picture manually.

"Circle Slide" by The Choir... my husband and his roommates didn't have any furniture in their apartment, or money for gas heat, so we were sitting on the carpet in his living room trying to stay warm near the wood stove.

Great job, Heather! I think that asking is always key, and we so often are afraid to ask for things! I mean, you can even ask for discounts at grocery stores, department stores, etc! It never hurts to ask, we just can't take "no" as something personal, you know? Thanks for sharing your testimony about this. I had no idea you work at home. You are one busy woman!

I'm a missionary to Mexico, working at a Bible school as the Dean of Women. I also host all the short-term missions teams and help to run a language school for missionaries to learn Spanish. Oh, and I homeschool our two oldest boys and take care of my house too, creatively of course!

Just FYI, prayer meetings here that are organized by major intercessors also make the Mexican pastors nervous.
