I've also done quite a number of rides within Western Australia. I was the WA Bike for Bibles Coordinator for five years before getting back into radio.

Have you had Bike for Bibles involvement?

Re: Australia Says Sorry: “This is history, unna?” (by Jarrod McKenna)

Thanks for that wonderful insight, Jarrod.

Sorry will never heal all the hurt that has been done but it is a wonderful way to start.

I sat in front of my television silently weeping as the Australian Parliament took this historic step.

Re: Ragamuffin Readers…What’s Your Day Job?

Radio Broadcaster.

Re: Announcing Jack Wheatley Bristow

Wonderful news. I was amazed to hear people saying that the cut off should be $200 000 or even $250 000.

I think $150 000 is a very comfortable living. In fact, if we were able to have a household income of even a third of that, we'd consider ourselves financially well off.

Even though we're a low income family, we know we're rich. Just last month I was meeting the poor of Haiti.

Over there the people are literally eating dirt to try to get some kind of nutrition.

With today being Compassion Day we decided to make our already small budget stretch even further so we can teach our children what's really important. We're giving one Haitian child a chance at life through Compassion Child Sponsorship. There's nothing like reaching out to others to get a better perspective on our own circumstances.

We're so blessed to be living in Australia.

Re: Belated Blogiversary

Happy blogiversary.

The blogosphere would be a much poorer place without you. :)

Re: Join the Conspiracy

I downloaded the Australian version from the site (adventconspiracy.org) for showing at church this Sunday. We've had some fairly hot days and have been very glad to have air conditioning but it's been nothing compared to the heatwave on the other side of the country.

There are huge bushfires raging across states in Australia's east. Over a hundred people have been confirmed dead and others are missing.

I'm not sure if it's about climate change or just the natural cycle of weather conditions but I do think we need to take better care of our planet.

Re: Madame Tussauds Amsterdam

Some of them certinaly look more 'real' than others but they're all fairly remarkable.

Re: Some Housekeeping

Well done on reaching 700 posts.

I've already got you in my blogroll and generally read you through my Bloglines account. It'd be great to see a bigger gap between the two events.

Re: How Much Do You Have to Hate…

I saw the video yesterday and it was the same line that struck me. So just how much coffee do you drink? How do you take your coffee? What's your favourite coffee shop?

Re: Christians & Alcohol – My Thoughts

I'll drink to that. Ah ... maybe the wrong thing to say.

My dad drank heavily as I was growing up. He was not a falling down drunk but he did like his beer.

I chose not to drink and it's only in the past several years, from my mid 30s to now my mid 40s, that I've started having an occasional drink. I've never been drunk in my life and don't intend to be. I enjoy a good glass of red or the occasional beer.

Your post is very balanced and pretty much sums up my attitude to alcohol. Thanks.

Re: Friday Friends Open Thread

OK ... It's one of the songs that I've had going through my head ever since I heard the news.

Right near the start of the video he flashes that amazing smile he had.
