Google knows and controls too much data now. It still leaves some room for independent ad servers.

Great trick! Most of the extension just set maxVersion to be 1.0.x and therefore not compatible with 1.5

Yes, I'm seeing those lawsuits coming for them too, but they really ignited the video serving market.

We use the promotional coupon to try LookSmart but have found it quite ineffective when comparing to other PPC engines, especially Google's AdWords.

If your photos have been stolen, displayed on some website claiming that they own the photo, or you worry about photo theft, I created a little program that can automatically add a line of text (your copyright notice, credit, date, whatever you like) into your photo. You can preview the watermarked photo and download to your computer, upload as a new photo into your photostream, or replace the existing photo on Flickr with this updated version.

Very nice list. Montastic is simple and fast, the live RSS feed is very useful. Host-tracker is slow and bloated.

That's only the invalid clicks they caught. From our experience, it's much higher and Google's customer service staff fight hard to deny any compensations or responsibilities.

I find most of their placements are misleading and a very low quality. Many of these placements are not the publishers but rather a bunch of third party ad servers, proxies between the real publishers and Google.

Because of the lawsuit with NTP in the US is gaining media/public attention and has negative effects for RIM/Blackberry, people are switching to other devices. The future does not look very good for RIM.

Maybe the term "paid link" that Google uses is very misleading and confusing. They should choose another term that describes the problem better. Many links are paid, directly or indirectly. BusinessWeek says "Buy a link here", so it must be paid links then! Many advertising services are about paid links, including Google's AdWords. Use another term or remove this altogether! I cannot believe Google didn't think this through!

Any update on when they release this to the public. The longer the delay, the stronger, more popular Google's Analytics becomes.
