in It Rubs the Lotion on Its Skin or It Gets the Hose Again - Web 1.0 vs Web 2.0 on Free Traffic Tips
Yes very wise words and a nice metaphor!
I've found it hard to communicate through my email list. You're right in saying Facebook is the key, we all need to work harder at converting our users to social networking friends also

in Google Personalized Results – Ego Search Conundrum on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
Nice post Andy!
I have also done this search before - surprising how common the name Andy is becoming.
I was known as Andrew throughout high school but changed to the shorter form for two reasons: a) it's more casual and sounds better, and b) there were too many Andrews
But now every second movie or TV show has a character named Andy and I rarely hear the name Andrew these days!

in The Holy Crap Reaction to Competition on Instigator Blog
Heh brilliant post!
I remember having this exact same Holy Crap reaction about a month ago related to a new fundraising initiative I was starting.
The creepy part is though, the competition was my age (under 25), went to the same Uni as myself, and (amazingly) was the brainchild of a good friend of mine's arch nemesis! I heard about it through another friend.
The timing and circumstances were completely bizarre.
*sorry for multiple post, a less than sign killed off the rest of my original post

Great pictures!
I remember how fun it was as an 7-8yo kid to visit my Dad's office and play table tennis in the rec room. I also loved the attention from his female colleagues!

in Is Premium SMS dead? (part 1) on alexkinch.com
Good post. The true value of these kind of competitions/promotions is to generate brand awareness and encourage viral behaviour. Using premium SMS to earn revenue is senseless - unless you're one of those dodgy outfits that sell "love compatibility" ratings!

Auto trackbacks sound like a great idea. Are these 20 bloggers one who have already noticed and commented on your press releases? Or total randoms?
