It was nice of you to hire craigslist's UI designer. :)

At least, please remove this font which was made for paper, and use arial or verdana which are appropriate for screens. :)

in Where Has the Old Facebook Gone? on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
But what if Facebook did it on purpose to not impact the performances? As much information as the previous information may have been difficult to manage from the technical point of view. Do not remember they want to reach "real time".

If we get in the live feed what we have in the "new profil" (I love how they aggregate), it will rock...

Has some insider some information?

Also the big issue is that some journalist working for newspapers write this information. And there is no follow up and/or correction...

The big issue with Techcrunch is that they prefer to publish quickly rather to wait 1 or 2 days to verify the information. A shame.

Le plus drole est la derniere phrase de la presentatrice.

La realisation de la video est incroyable... comme quoi, il y a encore des gens qui ont de l'argent et qui ne comptent pas. :)

in Should Michael Arrington Be Invited Back At LeWeb Next Year? on Loic Le Meur
I am Swiss and worked in the headquarter of a fortune 50 American company. What is the big difference between European and US employees?

Amercian employees spend a lot more time at work than European ones but.... (gentle remark) their time is more a "presence" time. Their productivity rate is usually lower. This is true in many industries.

That said: the fact that (1) social security is low in US and (2) that many people give hugh amount of money to companies without futures are the 2 keys that make people more willing to take the risk of entrepreneurship in the US.

En une phrase: "Good news is no news".

Loic, we all appreciate your transparence and you are really an amazing guy: during bad time most of the people are just staying hidden. You are a true leader: you face your obligations. Not so many Fortune 500 CEOs are like you....

I think it is a bad thing to link these layoffs to the financial crisis. *There is no link!* The root cause is for sure elswhere. It can be technical, it can be income growth, team members casting, etc.

Like the Onasis, the people staying positive and with a good business will start their success story during this uncertain period.

Remove the emotional part of the journalists propagenda and only trust the fundamentals!

Sorry to tell you that you are totally wrong.

With this strategy, you have to make a different job: software editor. You are no more a web developper. The project cycles are different. The jobs and costs are different. You lose flexibility (which increase the costs) and the markets are more segmented which force you to dev. specifically for each device.

Last point: the environment is close and owned by one company. The web is based mainly on open standards.

With web application you can reach HTC, Nokia, SonyEricson, Apple, etc. owners.

Waooww I love these CEOs. You should only ask them questions about how to use powerpoint, how to do a budget in Excel, etc.

For technical questions, ask the tech guys....

This reminds me one must-do we had when I started developping websites:
A web page must not be scrolled down to ease the user's life! hehe

In Asia (bangkok, Tokyo and other Hyper cities) it is really cool to have clothes with the nazi cross (and it is really different from the Hindu symbol).
Even the most extrem guy would never dare to wear such a cloth in the streets in Europe.

It is only a matter of references and perception...

They surely did not do that before for performance reasons.

Keeping a tree structure is more ressource demanding than a simple comment-response structure.

They may have found a solution now.
