I’ve always been pretty quick to be against it. Kids are very street smart these days. If I ever had a kid decide she was going to take revenge for a bad grade and make ugly accusations, my life and career would be over. I think we would all want to be alone so that we could get "pumped up" for a debate. I'm sure Obama does too. It's just human nature.

And naturally, ALL of the presidential candidates have secret service with them. They have in every election.

Re: 100 Must-Read Books: The Essential Man’s Library

Someone actually suggested Douglas Adams Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy? Whenever I spent a night at my girlfriends house, she would always be interested in standing in the bathroom doorway, watching me shave in the morning. This has happened with several women that I have dated, and I have to say, I'm in my 30's and have been married for less than 2 years, so I would think this would apply pretty well to today as well as back then.

Re: What Happened to Wartime Sacrifice?

Actually I think complacency is what got us here. Back in October 12, 2000, when the USS Cole was attacked by terrorists, 17 sailors were killed. There was literally NOTHING done about it in regards to retaliation or any military action. It is probably the motivator for terrorists to carry out the September 11 attacks on the US.

Why didn't the American public get more rattled about the attack that killed 17 sailors? I'd have to say it wasn't sacrifice at that time, but a severe lack of focus on what is important.

Re: Using Digg & The Wall Street Journal Together: Review with Screenshots

Wow, this is awaome news about the collaboration!

Also, glad to see WSJ finally doing away with the online charge! I'm in IT, and typically I will see a posting on a site, and go after it, just to not get the job. Often I will be registered with a staffing service, and will get the same job I couldn't apply for directly 3 weeks later.

I've had the same job for the past 5 years, so fortunately, this hasn't been a problem for a while.

Re: 6 Steps To Getting Back Into The Blog Saddle

Great post!

I think writers block is probably the biggest thing that is on a bloggers mind, even beyond site maintenance and "how to make extra cash off of your blog".

New and creative content is the only thing that separates blogs out.

I've blogged a little here and there, but never could get anywhere with it. When I read the title, I wondered particularly about Wizard of Oz vs Gone With the Wind. Any other year, Oz would have been hard to beat.
