@Cole But I liked Stardust :(

I think it looks like all the recent Fraser movies along with a touch of Spiderwick
Chronicles or a Bedtime Stories twist.

Maybe Uwe Boll could direct the video game based on the movie based on the video game.

Nice post Scott.

While I don't have the same love for the genre as you do, I'd definitely like to see the same passion and dedicated placed into these modern day horror films as those of yesteryear. I think there are a lot of creative methods or new storylines that have yet to be done that could turn a film into a relatively successful venture.

Personally, in recent times films such as The Strangers and Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon have done so much more for me than almost any other recent horror film.

Bradley,

The problem with leeching off IMDb is that it makes you dependent on them. They make one change and you have to go back into your code and figure out how to scrape their site again. Not to mention they disallow scraping and actively ban IPs that scrape because they sell their database of data.

We're working on a system that will allow users to modify and add more films to the system. Realize we're still relatively young and we're attempting to suite everyone's needs as best possible.

If you'd like to send me some of your suggestions, feel free to email me (mike@iheartmovies.org). I'm more than willing to go over ideas.

I'll be catching Tropic Thunder for sure sometime this weekend. I'd also like to squeeze in Vicky Cristina, but that may have to wait depending on how my time falls.

I think I'll be checking out Felon and CJ7. I was interested in Smart People, but a lot of people have told me it was bad. :(

Possibly, but they never had Marisa Tomei as a stripper.

@viper squad Are you saying Batman was bad or that no one can live up to The Dark Knight?

Wait a minute... are you suggesting that other movies are coming out this week? I thought this week was a The Dark Knight only release weekend. At least that's all that matters.

Somehow, I have a feeling I may get pulled into seeing Mamma Mia (oh Lord help me), but I'm definitely (as you should have read by now) checking out the Dark Knight at the IMAX.

I'm quite a bit more than pumped to say the least.

I watched part of The Tracey Fragments today and I liked the style to the narration and Page's performance. She's almost never off screen and does a really good job at the performance for the film.

Stop-Loss was ok. It seemed to be trying to make a really valid point, but came off as trying too hard to make it or just not really accomplishing what you think it should have. I had hoped for a lot more from it considering the cast, but overall it was just an alright film.

The Ruins was a boring and overly gory wannabe horror flick. It relied too heavily on gore in an attempt to scare and really fell right through it's weak plot. I watched it on a whim and I guess I hadn't expected too much from it. If you're not a fan of seeing useless gore, you're not going to be a fan.

I won't be picking up anything as I've seen everything I'm interested in. I've still got to catch Hancock (even though I'm told it's terrible from some) and I've got to pump myself up for next weekend's Dark Knight release.

I'm catching Wall-E tonight and hopefully Wanted pretty soon. I still have to see Get Smart, so it's hard to say which I'll end up at.

I've yet to see the film, but have been wanting to. Definitely after reading your review and hearing thoughts from friends, I'm more interested. I was a little timid about it, but now I'm much more interested.

Thanks.

"I don't understand why prostitution is illegal. Selling is legal, fucking is legal. So, why isn't it legal to sell fucking? Why should it be illegal to sell something that's legal to give away? I can't follow that logic. Of all the things you can do to a person, giving them an orgasm is hardly the worst. In the army they give you a medal for killing people: in civilian life you go to jail for giving them orgasms. Am I missing something?"

I agree completely with Jason on Be Kind Rewind. We both went to see it and we were pretty excited for it. Then, as the film was ending with both looked at each other and saw that both of us were pretty disappointed by the entire thing. Personally, I had hoped for a lot more "Swedes" and more focus on that rather than the cheesy storyline (and even worse ending) they came up with.

I saw Super High Me a few weeks ago and thought it was decent. I'm a huge fan of comedy and stand up (and find Doug Benson normally pretty funny) but for the most part, the film lacked the special something that made Super Size Me feel so good. I found myself bored often and ready for the next scene. What I think could have been executed a lot more cleverly, was just jumbled together.

I'll be watching Chaos Theory sometime this week and seeing how that turned out. I'm usually a Reynolds fan, so I'm interested in how he'll do here.

I have hardly any interest in Fool's Gold and absolutely no interest in Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, so I probably will be skipping out on those.

I'm going to definitely be checking out the Hulk sometime this weekend or next week. I have really high hopes for it. With the success of Iron Man, it appears Marvel really has their stuff together and I'm ready to see how this turns out.

As for The Happening, I'm one of the casual Shyamalan fans. I was originally really excited for the film thinking it would turn out to be a nice Shyamalan thriller. Unfortunately, all the reviews of it lately have been that it's a pretty mediocre flick and not all that entertaining. Especially with it only having a 17% on RT. I'll probably wait for this to hit DVD. I also want to blurt out that I liked Lady in the Water even though everyone hated it.

I really want to see YPF too but it's not playing at any theater near me. I live in a pretty small movie market, so I'll have to wait for it to the DVD.

I think I'm going to have to check out Kung Fu Panda with all the good things I've been hearing about it. I'm ready for a good animated comedy and am hoping this can live up to what it's apparently supposed to be. I guess we'll find out.

I guess the only time I really get upset about remakes or redoing ideas is when it doesn't turn out well. When the remakes are done right, I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing and in the case of Iron Man I can actually enjoy it fully.

At the beginning of the movie, it says "inspired by true events" as opposed to "based on." I found that to be interesting when I saw it.
