I'm equally disappointed in your three alternative summation as to why she felt it necessary to resign.<br><br>Permit me to supplement your list of reasons with one of my own: (4) she sincerely believed that her agenda as governor was irrepariabled damaged by her detractors to the point of having to make a choice between what she felt was most important to the people of Alaska or staying in office for the remainder of her term. She therefore made the decision to pass the banton to her LG so as to offer a better chance of implementing their agenda.<br><br>As for your reason number 2, how would you like for your family members to be subjected to the same baseless incriminations that the Palins have endured. How would you like for David Letterman, on national televison, making a "joke" about a prominent Yankee baseball player having sex with your daughter? Oh, and have you seen the recent mocking images of Trig tossed around on the Internet? Oh, and how about Good Morning America and other major media outlets interviewing the father of your daughter's illegitimate son, the father being allowed to bring his sister and mother in for the interview? <br><br>You seem incredibly dismissive of the slander and ridicule heaped at the family members of Sarah Palin, slander and ridicule not bestowed on any other political figures family in recent memory. I'm not suggesting that this was the sole reason for Palin's resignation from office, but, if it weighted into the decision, who in their right mind could blame her.<br><br>Now, as for leaving office before the bell rings, it seems we have a current POTUS who left his senate office early too; that is, after spending the vast majority of his time in office campaigning for another one.
