JB, the way that I am understanding it is John is going to come back to pitch in the bullpen. I have also heard the rumor being that if he does come back, Tom will also come back. With that said, we still need a big arm and from the way my sources are talking, it looks more like they will go after ben sheets. But who knows, he still has not come through on the holliday pick up.

My gut tells me that the Braves go after CC or Sheets in the off season to bring the number one that we need on the mound. I also think that they will put a deal together to bring Holliday to Atlanta to give us the potent bat that we needed. If not, expect to see Brandon Jones or Jason Berry in left field next year.

To recap it in short, I think that it is a great move as it gives the Braves freedom to go after what they need. On the stand of the left fielder, if you get so lucky as getting a shot at a "Holliday" type player, you take him. With that said, I like Brandon Jones for left and Blanco in center.

JB, in my opinion, I think that they will not get much for him. With that said, I honestly think that Brandon Jones will be the starting left fielder for next year. I think that from what the Braves saw of him the last time up he looked better. I also think that they should put Kotsay on the chopping block and stick Blanco in center field and give him the lead off role. If you do that, it will allow for the Braves to find the pitcher that they need. And another option for them is they can always go after a good third baseman and put Chipper at first to cut down on his injuries. just my .02 worth.

JB, you have to look at it this way. All this money crap in baseball dates back to Ryan Sandberg being the first 7 million dollar man. When that transpired, players stock went on the uprise and no one showed loyality to a team anymore. Chipper and John are a dying breed.

JB, I think that the Braves did the smart thing here. last year they held on to Andruw and got nothing for him. This year they deal and get a quality first baseman that can hit. But more importantly, it clears some salary out of the way for them to get a power hitting left fielder. I smell a Holliday coming to Atlanta.

JB, I did not see the play in question. I will say this though. Shane Victorino has always played a good game of ball and I would have to think that his action was no more than a bad choice.
