Actually, I joined the train and unfortunately, I realized the same thing. It is because of having so many people wanting to get to that list, it devalued the quality of that list. Also, the list is now very inconsistent because it is in a constant change. (changes every minute because of thousands of bloggers wanting to be there.)

I do still do the habit of adding people's blog to my favorites but not as frequent as the first hype of the wagon.

I also have a linkedin account but since the day I joined... I only visited the site once and that was the day I joined.

what I'm planning to do tomorrow is to be still spontaneous just the way I was and just the way I am still.

if you don't want to switch host (btw, you can keep your domain name even if you switch to a new host) use a WYISWYG editor like Windows Live Writer. I recommend using Windows Live Writer since there are so many people creating plugins and developing it. It can also be used for different kinds of blogs (blogger, wordpress, livejournal, Spaces Live, and many more).

That way, you don't need to edit your entry or publish it through accessing your host. You can just post or edit any entry just by using the software.
