in South Africa is the Biggest Surprise! on Risk & reward
Hey Santiago! Greetings from SA. Thrilled to hear that you're getting some decent traffic from us - you are indeed correct that there is a vibrant and ambitious entrepreneurial community in South Africa, especially in the Web space. It's a little too small for our liking right now, and we haven't quite seen the successes that South American counterparts have, but we're hoping that's going to change soon.
This is a fantastic blog - very insightful and I look forward to engaging the conversation with you online!

in Israel: a country too far from Mike Arrington’s house on Scobleizer
Hey Robert
Met you very briefly at Mix08, though you were interviewing Chris Saad at the time so attention was sparing :)
South Africa, my home country is also producing some pretty cool tech startups. Sites like www.afrigator.com, www.blueworld.co.za, www.synthasite.com and more are just some examples of signs that even in the Southern-most tip of Africa we're pushing the boundaries of innovation on the Web. Though I do agree that we're less likely to get noticed because most of the online world doesn't know Africa exists :P

in How Many People Are Missing The Point of Twitter? on Social Times
Thanks for the link Anthony. As I said in my post, I have no doubts about the potential of Twitter and have seen how others benefit from it, but have almost felt embarrassed at my own lack of enthusiasm in the service. I've wondered whether it's behavioural or simply due to a lack of effort on my part. Interesting to hear other's views on it though.

in Cerebra’s new home on the Web on Paul Jacobson
Thanks for the write-up Paul. Yes, there s still much to do, and all your points are valid. I get the sense that you feel it's a step in the right direction though, and that's got to be a good thing :)
