Guilty on all 12 counts by a jury of 12 white people. That includes 2 counts of kidnapping with a min of 15 years each.

Ageism and ableism in the same post.

"with no experience"

This is a bit sexist in itself. Palin is the only one of the four with any executive experience whatsoever. If she were a man, those two years as governor would be an asset.

"the GOP continues to believe that a woman’s place is in the home"

How quickly we forget Condoleezza.

CPL Jed, we never considered Condoleezza for the main fact that she sold out to the establishment, and despite being Sec. of State, she has always done what the men told her to do. If you remember her testimony before the 9/11 commission, she was simpering towards the men, but was real contemptous toward the women, especially Barbara Boxer.

That's "June Cleaver" type behavior, right there. And if you examine Condi's ascent to the top, it has not been because she's an independent thinker - her history has been to defer to and act upon the advice of her elders, usually WHITE and usually MALE.

We haven't forgotten her at all - in fact, she fits right in with the ReThug way of thinking regarding their womenfolk.
Anovelista's picture
Anovelista Condoleezza's in the "black" box with the GOP. They don't think of her - or other black women as "real" women. "Women" means WHITE women.

in Hillpatine’s Latest Maneuverings on Jack and Jill Politics
Is all this really coming from the Clinton camp, or is this the media milking an old story that still has legs?

Town I think it's both. I think it's been simmering underneath all along but Bill being assy with Kate Snow brought it back out into the open.

Which is why I did not appreciate the ABC interview of Bill Clinton and Kate Snow's "interviewing" tactics.

Everyone knows that Bill Clinton cant stand Barack Obama, so why go and ask him "whaddya think of Barack Obama?"

And then go running back to Obama saying "He said this about you, whattaya think about that?"

All that ABC Gotcha! interview did was drag the situation back up from the bottom of the sea, and now it's ok to talk about it again. Whipping up people who were calming down.

Meanwhile McCain is over there doing something nobody knows about because we're all focused on the playground fight between Billary and Barack.

in Dear Senator Obama on Jack and Jill Politics
As someone who will be voting for whichever C-list candidate has the last name that is most difficult for school children to spell, I would sign that (with a few edits). However...

The real guts of either candidate's campaign will not begin much before their respective conventions. Everything up to now has been establishing range and windage.

in Man Arrested For Threatening Obama’s Life on Jack and Jill Politics
CNN gives more context of what was said. Geisel "told agents that 'if he wanted to kill Senator Obama he would simply shoot him with a sniper rifle.' " As for the weaponry, that is fairly typical of someone who would be "attending a bail bondsman training class".

in Is Obama the End of Black Politics? - Asks NY Times on Jack and Jill Politics
Is black politics a single entity? Are Obama's politics really the same as Cynthia McKinney's, or are their differences enough to say that they represent different groups of blacks? Does Obama still represent black interests, or is the scope of presidency so wide that representation is abstracted to a higher level that eliminates color lines?

in Obama Heckled - “What About The Black Community?” on Jack and Jill Politics
in the spirit of needing to represent all Americans in the best way that they see fit.

Unfortunately, whoever becomes president (or sits in Congress) will often have only one track to follow in cleaning up after Bush, as in the one road leading from hell. On the day after inauguration, we are going to see a whole bunch of career bureaucrats unload on their respective inspectors general and the OMB eight years worth of pent-up frustration over the fraud, waste and abuse that they were forced to sit on out of fear of reprisal.

In fact, I would not be at all surprised to see stacks of green logbooks filled with dates, descriptions and numbers; the kind of information government employees know should never go into a computer. Actually, if any of the union stewards that I knew are still around, I can guarantee you those logbooks.

And that will only be the first onslaught. Not even a President McCain would dare interfere with the inevitable investigations into justice, intelligence, military, finance, and Homeland Security matters, nor with their subsequent criminal proceedings.

Further, before anyone can begin to address national healthcare, the Social Security Administration needs major repairs; not just in future funding, but current breakdowns within the system itself that have resulted in a backlog of a hundred thousand disabled currently owed for four years worth of back payments -- a good many of those individuals are owed nearly $50,000 each. Another 800,000 likely recipients are mired in the appeals phase. You do the math.

Anyway, that is just Social Security. Anyone who only reads headlines knows that many other federal agencies, like transportation and the VA, are dealing with problems caused by neglect from upper management. Many would suggest that the government could just repair those agencies toward supporting new programs, but nope, I think the harm is too deeply rooted.

The next president cannot help but represent all americans because the damage impacts all americans, including those too blind to see any damage whatsoever. The thing is, you got to put the train back on the track before you can move in either direction.

in DNC Tells Hillary Holdouts - ‘ Time to Get Real’ on Jack and Jill Politics
Or else what? They already have the ear of one of the most powerful movers in the Senate, someone who could just as easily get her legislative way with McCain as she could with Obama. Whoever becomes president will eventually have to go through Hillary for their budgets. As things stand today, Hillary and her supporters are in the unique position of having the least to lose over the next four years. Threats against them are stillborn, and they know it.

msmartin Wrong. Hillary has a lot to lose over the next four years. She also does not have the power that you seem to think she has.

in DNC Tells Hillary Holdouts - ‘ Time to Get Real’ on Jack and Jill Politics
I have had a hard time pinpointing where the Hillary hold-outs lie on the political spectrum. Many are so radically left that they see Obama as a sell-out to centrist Democrats. Why they don't see that in Hillary is beyond my ken. Meanwhile, the centrists generally recognize Hillary's ties to business, and they believe firmly that her health plan is not only workable, but the most effective path to eventual universal coverage. The feminists pretty much divide into the older generation who has been loyal to Hillary since she was First Lady and the younger group who prefer Hillary's dedication to gender equality over Obama's. Among the rest are the noisemakers who, with the least to say, get the most attention from blogs and the press.

If the MSM ever had a sense of responsibility, and that I doubt, they lost it long before Bush.

99 Percent Sure Actually, they sold it. Way, way back in the day, when they were considered the 4th Estate, there was integrity in journalism and reporting.

But that was way back in the 20th century, ending around the 80s.
