Good work. Some suggestions (feel free to ignore them):
- Get a helper. You can't easily pump bellows for 3 hours on your own.
- Research African smelting techniques, eg: Koande, Yeke, Ndungu, Luba and others in central Africa.
- Build a taller furnace with a chimney. It is essential in drawing the fire.
- Not sure if you have access to malachite, but if so, you may want to use that - it melts at 200C, and does not contain iron like chalcopyrite does. You may be hard pressed to get the chalcopyrite hot enough (I don't know the melting point, but am guessing it's higher). Watch for a change in flame color.
- Your goal is just to get impure copper. Refining comes later with another furnace (as I am sure you already know).

So you seem to be doing it in one shot from zero. Commendable, but it seems to be the hardest way to approach this task. If you did each task separately (ie: using modern tools to accomplish the pre-requisites) and then only once you had worked them out, string them all together, it may be easier and less frustrating. Also, your nylon rope would not be a failure. (I suspect you will feel a desire to go and redo this step at some point anyway, when you know more).

BTW, a whole historical village in a recreation in the UK only just succeeded in what you are trying, to make iron. All the more reason to try, but it is hard.

Yeah agree with spacebar about the homepage icons. I can't see myself needing any of these options very often so it would feel like a bit of an unecessary page. Agree that either being able to customize those links or set a different default starting page would be useful.

The rest looks great though.

Amazing how wide the gap is between "I will fuck you" and "I will fuck you up." Methinks the latter is more what this mom meant, heh.

When making a fire with a bow / stick, don't forget to make a notch in the base. I forgot that and spent a long time with no luck, getting annoyed.

in Question: How Has the PG-13 Rating Changed Over The Years (if at all)? on /Film
That's a flawed site -- No one can say what's appropriate or not for a child of a certain age without personally knowing that kid. Some 13-year-olds can handle material a 15-year-old can't, etc. Anyone giving a specific age recommendation is doing a disservice to parents.

in Question: How Has the PG-13 Rating Changed Over The Years (if at all)? on /Film
The ratings are pretty much useless nowadays, especially in the PG-13 realm. Best bet -- use a site like Screen It (http://www.screenit.com) that details everything you need to know (far more than any other site/service), w/o passing judgment on whether the stuff is good or bad.

in Din Mening: Skal man kunne gifte sig til konge-titlen? - Debat on Berlingske.dk
Stemningen her indikerer klart at man ikke vil kalde Henrik for konge.

in Ubisoft Reckons The PS3 Faces An “Uphill Struggle” In The UK on PushSquare.com
I stopped reading at "the former Microsoft employee of six years"

Fact is Sony launched in Europe a full 16 months after the 360 and now they are virtually identical in terms of hardware sales. Adjust global hardware figures to assume a joint launch and the PS3 has sold 3-4 million more than the 360.

That alone makes his comment nul and void. Seems those six years at the big M left an impression on him...

Let's just break that down a bit more - 360 launches as the only next gen console with no competition, is relatively cheap for the basic setup, has quite a few launch games, has MS's big pot of advertising money, has the press and blogsphere eating out of their hands. PS3 launches up against and established Wii and 360 competitors, is relatively expensive, is critised for lack of launch games, doesn't have the money to advertise, and is subject to a torrent of negative press. Yet despite all these factors the PS3 is still OUTSELLING the 360.

Look forward 12 months in which time we'll have events like Uncharted 2, MAG, Heavy Rain, God of War III, possibly GT5 launching, the motion controller launching, and crucially the 3rd year price cut (possibly with redesigned hardware) and I think you'll be looking at a different picture.

I don't expect them to catch the Wii (unless their motion controller really really takes off) but I'm pretty certain the Microsoft will finish in last place again - the only reason they aren't last now is the fact they rushed to market (at the expense of hardware quality) in order to buld up an artificial lead.

in Sony Already Passing Playstation Motion Controller Kits Out To Developers on PushSquare.com
Sony's large internal studios will be crucial here - just like it's the Nintendo games that drive the Wii. Whereas MS are going to have to rely heavily on 3rd parties to ensure the tech is a success, Sony will be able to get things going with 1st party games.

Another advantage is that being similar to the Wii it will be easier for the developers to get their head around - for example a PS3 version of Ubisofts ever popular "Rabbid Rabbits" games would be relatively easy to port over.

With Microsofts Natal concept it's a case of going back to the drawing board with game design. I also worry that it won't see the light of day until 2011 and worry that when it does the camera will be extremely expensive because of the tech that is in it.

Also using mocked up concept trailers instead of sicking to stage demos like Sony did leave MS open to a big backlash when the 'real' retail version turns out to be not quite as good as they implied - just look at the original E3 concept of the twin-HDMI PS3 or the 2005 Killzone 2 CG trailer.
