in Zoho Launches Marketplace on Chris Brogan
Chris, thanks for sharing. I'm going to have to check out the new apps on Zoho. I'm glad they are keeping the pressure on their competition.
Do you really feel that there will continue to be more and more social networks? In my opinion, I can see them getting more granular, but will I really need to have a social network for something I do sparingly, like say play frisbee golf? I'd love to see these walled-gardens open up and play nice across all levels of the web. I wrote an article not too long ago about how I thought Google had acquired or developed enough tools to incorporate social into all aspects of your experience. Picture going to your favorite web page, interacting/commenting/collaborating with your associates via friendfinder, going to google maps and finding a youtube video that your buddy posted about the Rocky Mountains, going to your gmail account and seeing an entire feed of what your pals are up to. Yes, I know some of these are already happening, but it still feels like a disconnect for me. I want social media to work for me, not me having to figure out the best way to adapt to it.

in Google Creating a Social Platform to Change the Web on OneHalfAmazing!
Google has done such a good job of indexing and providing search tools for the web, additions to their platform only make search that much stronger. I can imagine 5 yrs from now when we'll reminisce and laugh about how we used to log in to 4+ different social networks separately. I give MySpace and Facebook about 2-3 years max until doomsday for them.

in Writing More Effective Email on Chris Brogan
Amen Chris, the amount of time that is wasted in my office while others try to figure out the action required from the email is immense. The same goes with meetings in my office. Most people only put a vague subject line without an agenda or letting me know what is required from me when I step in the room. In the end we send 10x the number of correspondence needed and 20x the amount of time on a project.
There has to be a smarter way. Wouldn't it be awesome if there was an email client in which you could assign an action to a person? The actions could fall into some sort of to-do list. Or if the email client was smart enough to lead the person to the most effective email.
Great piece, I'm going to implement the subject line idea into my work environment.

in Tools Restrict Your Thinking on Chris Brogan
So true. I found this evident when I went to visit the Stax Museum of Soul Music here in Memphis. Most of those artists had nothing but their imagination to work with. The creativity they had came out of the absence of the things they didn't have.

in 2007/09/30/seo-toolbox/ on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Great collection of tools - these will really come in handy. For me, I break down SEO into 4 distinct categories;
1. Keywords
2. Content
3. Links
4. Time
Thanks again for compiling this list.

in Bridge Strategies for Social Media Adoption on Chris Brogan
Chris,
Great take on social media adaptation. I'm currently in the process of trying to explain and quantify the benefit of social media to our non-profit and I couldn't agree with you more on (1) Show the reward, not the tools (2)Consider Head Count and (3)Start Simple, Lay it out. A 65-year old Senior Director doesn't need to know how Twitter works, but he certainly needs to know how it can impact his business. Keep up the good work.

in Local Social Media- Applications on Chris Brogan
The great part with most of these social media applications are that they are free or nearly free to use. Small business owners are the closest to the ground and should be the ones that learn to use and adapt to these tools first. I would agree with the thought that these tools are scary at first and they have somewhat of a learning curve, but I have to say that they are totally worth spending time with. Building a reputation as an expert in your niche market will pay off many times over.
My 2 ideas -
* Local landscaper doing a video series on his blog/community site/YouTube showing you how to plant and landscape your garden.
* Social Media consultant to small business owners.
My Site - www.onehalfamazing.com focusing on e-marketing, social media and web design.
