Yay! I have not used your material either, but I am very much in favor of an open informational model and I applaud you for a step in that direction!

in The Simple Answer to a Lasting Marriage on Simple Marriage Test
I've always particularly liked this article. I find it so hopeful as a young person starting out on the relationship journey (not married yet) even as I see so many in my parent's generation getting divorces. It can be rather overwhelming to see it happen to so man and wonder what I can do now to prevent that in my own life.

The beauty of the framework you lay out is that when we approach marriage (or even any other relationship) in this way, we prepare ourselves for a much richer and more productive life. Our life goal's should not be to be happy, but to grow to become better people.

in How Twitter May Tweak Your Relationships on Simple Marriage Test
This is a great strategy. I think I might actually suggest it to my family that has the same issue. At the very least it underscores how important it is to be able to present and think about one's ideas clearly and succintly. I have observed many arguments and blow ups that seemed mostly to be caused by poor understanding of the terms of the argument, and I don't just mean that people insufficiently understood the other side's views. We fail to understand our own views well enough too.

I'm trying to even figure out what happened here. Its like, the back of the dumptruck came up and got caught on the sign? How does that even happen?

Devindra Hardawar He left it up by mistake, then drove into the sign. Those things are surprisingly strong!

My Goodness there is something truly surreal and...disturbing is not the right word, but it is the closest that comes to mind here. How would the founding fathers react at knowing that their government was represented here by a pure white, steril holding bay, while the forces working against it represented by the same cabins that settlers used to populate this country.

in On Apple’s Industrial Design on The Far Side of Tech
The strength of Apple however is also its weakness. Jobs has a great vision in mind for the look and feel of the products that Apple produces. However, the downside to Apple is that vision is the only one you get. Control? Customizability? Barely present in Apple products and when so, usually more through hacks than built in.

Maybe the computer industry should learn something from the car industry about merging design with function. Those are large corporations that tend to do a much better job overall with producing a variety of designs (some functional, some beautiful) with a variety of functionality (some cheap, some durable). And yet most car companies don't have the dictatorial (or should I say Papal?) power that Jobs has.
