i totally ignore the fact that keeping possession is part of the defense in my comment. so i'm sorry. what i really want to mention is their back four, because they are the defenders. they never really got tested. i also agree that in modern football, you play to win and entertain people and your fans. and barca did that really great and that's why i'm also one of their million fans. however, as a chelsea fan too, i understand why chelsea play the way they did last tuesday. you want to win this competition named European Champions League. and you also know how fearful barca is at camp nou. so why must you kill your chance in the first leg by doing some foolish attacking knowing 5-2 or 4-0 in first leg will not get you anywhere (proven by bayern and lyon)?? yes i admit barca is really good in passing and scoring. but a game name football is not just about that. it is also about TACTICS. and that is why chelsea and last year winner MU play boring defense at camp nou.

bla...bla...bla.. i support both chesea and barca (with a little bias on chelsea). so that makes me almost neutral regarding this matter. don't really care which one of them go through. may be there's one or two things of what ur saying is true. i agree that barca got the best offense but to say they also have the best defense is not really true. many team couldnt score against barca because they are magnificent in keeping possession and attacking so their defense never really in pressure, not that their defense is good. we couldn't judge that since theoretically there is no other team in this world that can break their possession at this moment.

abdel i agree we have the best possession of the ball now, but dont you think that it's part of the defending plan, saying the best way to defend is to attack, add to that, that barca has some of the best midfielders in europe and they are name in the list of the best players in europe this year such as XAVI and INIESTA AND TOURE... thats also part of the defense buddy, i dont blame chelsea parking the bus in front of the barca but that only shows how afraid were they of barca, and liek you said chelsea didnt came to play soccer its more like rugby to me, we all know that barca always entertain and everybody around the world watch barca and enjoy it because its part of the game its to entretain not to more people with such stupdi defensiv style, i would respect chelsea of they defended and made some contre-attacks and try to play some ball but that didnt happend and you can ask any football expert and they will tell you chelsea sucked that day, and barca tried but its like you are firing against a stell walled city in vain. barca will and always entertain and will come to chelsea to play an offensive game and only a matter of time now and we will see who plays soccer and who plays rugby , viva barca

well said mate. well said. you play with what you have. it's strategy. statistics show that barca ALWAYS score A LOT at nou camp no matter what team they play. so if u'r a good manager, you will try to minimize it by defends or if possible get a draw and then get a win at your home where supporters are behind ur back. of course it will backfire if barca score a lot at stamford bridge, but you have to gamble. now puyol and marquez is out. so it's possible chelsea can still win.

the game was controlled by chelsea. ball possession, shots on goal etc. so it's not a handed win. you can't blame the defends for all mistakes. if the midfield plays poor by give away the ball cheaply or in this case chelsea win the ball forcibly, then defends will always be in pressure. chelsea fought hard for this win!

2 super assist from lampard.
nice strategy. using strength against arsenal to win the ball, keep possesion. so arsenal can't use their speed and passing effectively. but of course with the help of mistakes from fabianski. i believe hiddink can win something for us this season!

barca certainly is the favorite. i admire their style. however, as we can see in this match, they didnt win with big margin. of course maybe it was because they are leading 4-0 on agg so they are not that fire up and henry was missing, but still anything is possible. barca is really something at camp nou. evidence from match against lyon (5-2) and bayern (4-0). if hiddink can somehow manage to find a formula to limit the damage there, then chelsea can still turn the table. go chelsea!!!!

with guus in charge, anything is possible. i'm sure the first lineup was made to counter liverpool with gerrard. but since he was not playing, the ingredient was somewhat messed up. so after down by two, he brought in anelka. saved by referee for halftime, he spoke a little and there you go. new method and strategy. btw, liverpool gave us hard time with their continuous comeback and finally it came to the boys to stick together and win the tie. congrats to both teams. now.... bring it on barca!
