The Office Labs page didn't mention this either and doesn't provide a download for XP, so it was a waste of time for me.

Re: Webware 100 winner: Zoho | Webware100 - CNET

I'd see Zoho a while back, but I just checked it out again and OMG it's great! It's everything that MS Office Live has and THEN SOME. I really like that I can edit docs online w/o everyone I share my docs with having MS Office, Excel installed on their PCs. Heck, a couple have Macs, which Office Live can't touch! Others can't afford it.

I also like that I can share my docs on external websites and blogs easily.

Re: We Miss You Carl

I can't believe it either. Carl was such a great guy and so helpful to all us Apex noobs.

I finally got to meet him in person at ODTUG and he was just as down-to-earth-happy-to-help-you as he was in the Apex forum. It's hard to imagine him not out there in the Ethernet offering guidance and great ideas to all of us.

Re: How I Convert Fellow Students to My Favorite Tools

First, a bit late, but did you mean "Convert" in the title?

I've always been a new adopter of technology and consider myself a software junky. I even have a budget with my wife for buying software tools! Like you I love using the stuff where others can see and show it off to them.

I had a VERY fulfilling instance of this a few months ago, when I offered to take notes with MindManager at a sub-department meeting and display them with the projector. A new manager saw this, gushed that she thinks in exactly the same way and now we've got users through our larger department (400 ) using MindManager and the User Support group pushed the MindManager viewer out to everyone's machines. I even caught someone using MM to present to our VP last month, which re-enforced that it can be used from the grass-roots level to the executive suite. Sweet!

Now if only I could get a commission on the licenses we've bought! :-)

Re: My Summer 2006 Experiment

I'll be looking forward to reading your results of your experiment.

I've used OneNote 2003, EverNote, MindManager and older tools (remember Ecco???) and haven't found one I like for all note-taking situations. I'm leaning back towards OneNote at this point, though I think MindManager is best when you're taking meeting notes that are displayed via projector.

Good luck with your courses,

Stew

Re: Send to Excel?

Off the topic a bit, but this type of functionality is support by MindJet's MindManager product (www.mindjet.com).

You can select a range of cells from an Excel spreadsheet, push it to MindManager, which displays the cells in the range and retains a link back to your original spreadsheet file. You can even edit the cells from w/in MindManager and it will update your spreadsheet. MM6 also supports creating a mini-spreadsheet right within a mindmap, without using Excel at all.

p.s. I'm NOT related to the company, its subsidiaries, owner, employees, etc. in any way. Just a happy customer who also likes OneNote.

Re: Can the iPhone Sync With Multiple Exchange Servers?

Yes, thanks for this definitive explanation.

Re: Ron's Evernote Tips - Put your room dimensions and measurements in your...

Yeah cuz us techies (primary Evernote users?) are ALL about getting new furniture for the pad! ;-)

It is a cool idea to keep all kinds of handy stuff in Evernote. I'm just waiting until ALL my notes can be saved locally on my iPod Touch, since my local furniture store doesn't offer free WiFi! :-(

Re: LetMeKnow iPhone app

You didn't discuss their pricing, which I'm a little confused about. It looks like after the 30 day free trial you pay $2 for a single subscription. $5 for 5. Ouch!
