Happy New Year,
I'm just amazed how you continue to love Japan -- I thought my home country went out of fashion more than 10 years ago . . .
Very good read -- I especially like the slow meal and "What matters is how many people do" part.

in about on The Thinkmaya Blog
Hi Maya,
I followed you from Tom's blog.
This is a nice blog, and you have a lot to offer! However, in terms of business, I am totally clueless what you are "starup" is that you mentioned in your comment there. I scanned through some posts, but I still don't see it. Do you want to be hired as coach? Do you want this blog to make money? Or is there something else?
I wrote about this in my own recent post for aspiring entrepreneurs, but really, you need to market -- clear and loud -- and market with passion and authenticity. You've got the passion and authenticity part, so work it out to marketing.
Many blessings to you and your buz,
Akemi Gaines

Oh, Steve, #5 is brilliant!
Sometimes, when you are ready to reinvent yourself, the "devil" feeds you with a rationally very nice bait. Weigh in carefully -- which is more important, a good pay and benefits or your life?

I'm glad that my article on the Law of Attraction inspired you. Starting from within may seem like a slow unreliable process, but it really is the opposite.
I also agree with the power of the mastermind. I get lots of help from my friends too.
Thank you for being my great friend, Steve.

in mindhack: gratitude rock on brip blap
Good for you, Steve!
Please don't be discouraged by the naysayers. Some people have so many energetic blocks that it is extremely hard for them to utilize the law of attraction. I feel sorry for them, but at the same time, I know it doesn't change the law of attraction.
Personal actions and efforts are important, of course. However, thinking success can be achieved by actions alone is short-sighted and arrogant.
It is more like the heaven (or God or whatever you call) rewards us when we put in out effort AND love / gratitude.

Thank you for your sweet link love.
There is much mystery to the Universe. Far from the toss of a dice, there are causes and effects that run through. Have you ever encountered a tremendous difficulty in life, something you really hated at the time, only to discover later that was the best thing that happened to you?
In addition to my life coaching, I read people' souls, and every reading amazes me how this cause and effect works!
I'm glad you are coming to the LOA camp . . . "Think and Grow Rich"!

Thank you for the mention.
The article I submitted for this week is just that -- "If I have to work for an idiot. . ." I think many of us are so conditioned to think in the box of "career -- job -- find employer -- paycheck" but entrepreneurship is just out there within reach.

Good start!
When you say "career" is entrepreneurship in the picture? If so, I'd love to submit posts from my Interview With Successful Entrepreneurs series. I've done 8 so far, and it always turn out great.

in how to make money without a job and why you should on brip blap
Great post! Too many personal finance blogs talk only about penny pinching saving ideas. It's important to be conscience of what we are doing with our resources, but when we focus on spending less, life just shrinks, and eventually, it becomes no fun to live. And we are here to live.
Thinking of making more money, on the other hand, is more fun, as you say. I am building my business, and adding a new service soon. For those of us who like challenges, this is the way to go!

So all the Japanese girls missed the chance to meet you because you didn't get up early enough -- and you went for Russians?
(Gee, I was there back in the 80s, you know. ^-^)
I wish I get as much credit for learning English. . . Americans tend to take it for granted that everyone speak English, and some puts me down for the minor errors I still make, like the singular and plural rules.
Anyhow -- thanks for learning any foreign language. I think it's good because you get more perspectives.

Hey, congrats!
I have the feeling you will be working from home long-term pretty soon, so this will be a great practice run.

in Youse, Y’All, and Other Confusions of Modern English on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
My comment on the visual today: If I were to teach English again to Japanese or any other non-Americans (highly unlikely to happen -- I didn't like teaching so much), I would use The Simpsons as the material. It teaches both how Americans really speak and live.

Issue 1: Heating plastic in microwave. Over time, toxins can accumulate significantly. . .
Issue 2: Frozen spinach. I hate it. I want to establish a foundation to save kids from it because I think it is the main reason why kids hate anything green on the plate . . .
Issue 3: What are you drinking in the morning??
I enjoyed reading 4HWW and really like this blog. Look forward to more reading!

Hi Akemi,
Glass is fine if you have it. I rarely drink anything other than water, tea, or wine. I drink water and tea in the mornings.
