I'm using this plugin, but commenters don't always use it. I'm still getting people leaving keywords only for their names. Guess I need to figure out how to make Keyword Luv more prominent.

I've been resisting Twitter ... this post doesn't help my will to resist. :-)

My vote goes to John Hewitt and Poewar: http://www.poewar.com. He covers just about every kind of writing, often in lengthy series. Even though I'm not interested in technical writing, I'm learning a lot that applies to other types of writing (and other situations in life) in his current series. The personal experiences he shares make the articles read like chapters of a novel—he even ends many articles on a cliffhanger.

I use the blogroll on my blog. I don't participate in the carnival often because my blog is primariy focused on writing. I like having the carnival blogroll even when I don't participate in the carnival. Thank you for maintaining the blogroll as long as you have.

I haven't done much with Technorati except a plugin for tags. I didn't even know they had an alert.

I have Google alerts set up for all my clients and their book titles as well as my own. That way we can see how PR is working and also where they're mentioned that we may not even know about.

I've never tried bonsai, but I've always enjoyed them - especially the ones that are very old and have been pruned artistically to be a miniature of a weathered tree that has stood up to the elements for hundreds of years.

These excellent tips cover many of the common errors I see regularly - not just in blogs, but also in manuscripts and business documents I edit.
