Which is why I implore you to purchase a ticket for one of the Gov't Mule shows in SF this Nov. If you walk out of the Filmore that night without a shit-eating grin on your face I will be nothing short of amazed.

But I can relate. I just saw the Black Crowes for the umpteenth time, and even though it had been 2+ years since I've seen them, and I was literally 6 feet away from Luther, I walked out of the venue going "yep.. another BC show.." If it wasn't for Luther (my first show seeing him as a band member) I might very well have left half way through. That and I was a bit determined to get my $80+ worth of the show (I didn't).

Re: Umphrey’s McGee | Fall 2008 Tour Dates, New Year’s Eve

I'm psyched they're coming back to Vancouver. Already got my ticket, and Richards on Richards is a very small club. I'll be there early in line so I get a spot in front of the stage.

My current dilemma is if I should go to Galactic the night before Secret Machines (both also at Richards on Richards). SM is a no-brainer, but w/ Galactics current 'rap phase' I'm torn. I applaud them for branching out and doing something different for a while, it's just not my thing. I've only seen SM once tho, and it was a short set @ the "On The River" thing in Philly. The last time I saw Galactic I had an insanely good time tho (ALO opened which made it that much more fun).

I'll probably do both. It's not so much a "opt out of some" issue here in Vancouver, there are SO FEW good shows that you pretty much take what you can get. But its been very consistent here - months and months go by w/ nothing interesting at all, then in a couple week span there are a bunch of shows. One of those "when it rains it pours" kinda deals, which only makes sense, since it rains here 7 months of the year.

Re: Bridge School Benefit Lineup Announced

Not in Cali, not going to make the trek, but if you've never been to a Bridge School Benefit, it's a lot of fun. One of those "you gotta do it at least once" deals. They're a bit more fun when PJ is part of the lineup, because everyone goes nuts, and they really are great acoustic. Or maybe 10/18/2006. Or 5/22/2006. One of those 3 dates anyway. Gov't Mule is the most under-rated band currently playing.

Bands I'd like to see but haven't yet - Warren Haynes solo (he's the lead singer of Gov't Mule), The Brain Damaged Eggmen and/or Bustle in your Hedgerow are high on the list.

I've seen Metallica a number of times, but it's pretty unlikely I'll ever see them again (barring being given free tickets and not having anything better to do that night). The best show was by far the one on the Justice tour (I'm old..). That's a band that has long past it's prime. Cypress Hill I got to see on their very first tour (again, I'm old) and it was great fun. I'd absolutely see them again, just for the hell of it.

I've heard good things about the latest Chris Cornell CD, though I'm a bit ashamed to admit I still haven't given it a listen.

Re: Signed, sealed, delivered…I’m yours

Good for you. Sounds like it'll be cool, and it's very much in the field you're interested in. And even if it's not as great as you hope (which I kinda doubt, it seems like a cool atmosphere etc) - it'll only boost your resume that much more. I loved the "company was bought and repackaged" comment. That's a really polite way of saying "bought and totally ruined" - and this is coming from somehow who worked at the company that ruined it (though I had nothing to do w/ TechTV/G4/TechTVG4/Whatever-its-called-now aspect).

Re: Blog Statistics for October 2007

I'm curious - have you resubmitted your site to Google after removing the text link ads? In fact for me, catching up with people I haven't seen in ages is one of the best aspects of Facebook. I have 2, maybe 3 "friends" on Facebook that I haven't met in real life. I only accepted their requests because we chat online frequently, and if I was ever in the same city, I'd probably meet up with them.

Twitter I follow pretty much anyone I find interesting. I don't get bent out of shape if they don't in turn follow me. I don't pretend to be interesting.

Last.FM I stick with people who have similar musical taste.

LinkedIn is strictly people I've worked with, for or had work for me.

Digg I blindly accept friend requests and rarely if ever pay attention to "shouts".

MySpace is a cesspool that I won't have anything to do with.

FriendFeed is on the verge of being annoying.

I gave up on MyBlogLog and Technorati. Ditto Pownce. Jaiku I have hope for, but rarely use.

StumbleUpon I blindly accept friend requests, but if I find I'm being sent to pages that I really have no interest in, I check to see who recommended it, and consider removing them.

When Friendster was popular I was too busy with a 9-5 to care.

Re: Twitter and FlashLite

I'm doing an article on mobile twitter clients - could you send me a few screenshots of your app?
