Besides that absolutely the worst kit ever.

I don't mind the Liverpool away kit.. Gray isn't the best choice but sure beats out the Highlighter Yellow Chelsea jerseys from last year..

Re: A Flying Winger Is Still A Necessity For Liverpool

I was hoping Rafa would make a swoop for David Bentley and offload Pennant in exchange. Bentley adds a lot of width and danger in set pieces. Supposedly he is worth around 14 Million to Blackburn which is good value for a player his age.

I think a good classy winger would do wonders for the team and just give Torres and Gerrard more space to roam with the added width.

But a classic winger doesn't exactly fit with the current formation of a 4-2-3-1. Especially if the team signs Keano. The formation really lead to a lot of goals and the most attacking the team has seen in years(no thanks to Torres as well). I also think the signing of a winger and Keane would be the end of Kuyt. He really can't fight Torres/Keane or a solid Right Winger for a position and it would be a shame. Kuyt although has shown to be shakey at times , is always a major work horse.

Reina
Degen-Agger-Carra-Dossena
Masch-Barry
Keane/Bentley-Gerrard-Babel
Torres

Either way that looks like a good line up to me, one that could maybe contend.

Re: How The Olympics Will Affect Premier League

Liverpool gets hit the hardest as they lose two bona fide starters in Babel and Masch... But also lose Lucas who could have replaced Masch in the midfield.

Man City losing Jo is unfortunate as well. He has missed valuable time building partnerships with his squad while being out on Olympic duty.

Re: 2008/2009 Premier League Table Predictions

1. Chelsea
2. Man U
3. Liverpool
4. Aresnal
5. Tottenham
6. Portsmouth
7. Everton
8. Aston Villa
9. Man City (if they manage to keep their squad)
10. Sunderland
11. Blackburn
12. Middlesbrough
13. West Ham
14. Newcastle
15. Fulham
16. Bolton
17. West Bromwich Albion
18. Wigan
19. Hull City
20. Stoke City

Arsenal lost Hleb and Flamini and their best replacement was Nasri. I think their season is contingent on the Young Guns emerging (Walcott, Bendtner, and Ramsey).

Tottenham look great on paper, I still think their defense is a little suspect though. I think they finish 5th but in a year the top 4 will be broken.

Re: Another Reason To Hate NBC’s Olympic Soccer Coverage

i have an olympic soccer channel that played the game through with no commercial interruption even during half time.

Re: Premier League Wants To Be The NFL

living in the USA and being a fan of the NFL.. The thing that drew me to watching and loving the EPL and european soccer in general is the relegation battles mixed in with the spots to qualify for Champions League and UEFA Cup.

When fans of Fulham who have no realistic chance at winning the title but engaging in a Relegation battle is just as exciting it provides great entertainment..

If the NBA, NFL, or MLB had promotions and relegations it would make the sports infinitely more interesting than they are...

Teams should never be awarded with playing poorly(draft picks).

Changing the EPL from its current state would be a terrible mistake.

Re: Who Are The Premier League Players You Love To Hate The Most?

Mascherano had one melt down against Man U last year and that makes him a hated figure?

My list would include:
CR7 - nuff said
Nani - his headbutt last year followed by nearly passing out was classic.
Cashley Cole - the most annoying player ever, his tackle on Hutton last year and his antics that followed was utter bs.
Drogba- For a player whose size and strength rivals most central defenders his ability to flop and bitch an d moan is unbelievable.

Re: Hypocrisy Typifies The Reaction of Opposing Fans to City Takeover

As a Liverpool supporter this just makes me sad that DIC didn't take over the club.

Think of all the players that would have been purchased.

Hicks and Gillette are going to run this club into the ground.
