C Ronaldo won both the league plus the champions and he also scored many goals with his club, some say that because he did not do well in the Euro he doesnt deserve it, I would say he does, but he really needs to step up this year in order to be considered as lately he has not been there...

Some may say he is not the best player in the world, and therefore does not deserve the award
The thing is, Ronaldo performed way better in 2008 than his other peers, Europe or elsewhere. No one can deny this fact. I am not a Ronaldo fans, escpecially not of his personality, but to say he doesn't deserve it is an ignorant argument. He didn't just do well on statistics, but also had become the consistent backbone of United's bid to Premiere League and Champions League to say the least. Best player or not, in 2008, he is simply the player that performed the best.
If he doesn't deserve it, than no one else does.
