in CHART ATTACK!: 11/7/70 on Popdose
As the son of parents with "unique" music tastes (I know I'm not alone in this), I've heard most of these songs before, and on 45 rpm vinyl.

I always thought Jackson's Billie Jean was off of the Thriller album, unless I'm mistaken, or was there a separate Billie Jean album? Or, where it said "records" maybe it was intended to read "songs" in which case I've just wasted webspace.

Thanks for the chart attack.

DwDunphy No, it definitely was off Thriller. I believe J.A. means that, in the grand scheme of Michael Jackson's recorded work, those two songs are the two that will stay while the rest get washed up in the gossip of history. I agree. "I'll Be there" really catches him at his best in his youth. "Billie Jean" was the point he became "The biggest pop star in the world" and everything after was a bit of a slide into the abyss.

I still like "Human Nature" best, though.

Elaine I'm not sure, but I think "record of the year" is always a song, and albums are a different category. Not that any of us should put any faith in the traditional record industry model...

in Hooks ‘N’ You: Bee Gees, “Size Isn’t Everything” on Popdose
Fallen Angel's opening...kind of reminds me of a cross between Animotion's "Obsession" and Human League's "Don't You Want Me."

in This Sucks!…(Don’t) Try This: Lou Reed, “Metal Machine Music” | Popdose on Popdose
I nearly had a heart attack laughing over every word, priceless blog posting.
This should be a sitcom, it beats all the reality tv and it's got enough character and heart to survive beyond the pilot.
