in The Anglo Angle: A Christmas Special, Football Italia with Elvis Costello on Serie A Talk
Great stuff isn't it I forgot to mention the hair also the discussion over top goal scorer who was Gabriel Batistuta at the time.
I was huge Batistuta fan and Gianfranco Zola was closing in on the goal count but Batistuta held on to win with 26 goals. Only one player has score more goals since to claim the yearly title and that was Oliver Bierhoff in 1997-98 with 27 goals see: http://tinyurl.com/9l3mds
Merry Christmas

in Premier League Clubs Face Tricky Opposition In Champions League on EPL Talk
Have to agree with Lonnie on this one Gaffer Arsenal are not that stunning whereas Roma have turned things around over the last month and half.
Roma come into their meeting with Arsenal as group winners while the Gunners came up short against FC Porto.
After hearing Derek Ray on WSD and reading David Pleat's article, Four of the Best - http://tinyurl.com/3gmlzf I'm of the opinion there is over confidence by those following the English clubs.
At least Pleat ponders the counter-strike and fluent passing game of Roma which should limit Arsenal offensively.

in Are the English sides once again the teams to avoid in the next round of the Champions League? on Champions League Talk
not so sure about that Dean and others, Chelsea wasn't that convincing in their group stage run and something tells me Arsenal will begin to crack. Finally Man United isn't the same team that won the 2008 title, Cristiano Ronaldo looks ready to step off that ship and soon and personally I hope he does just to piss Sir Fergie right -off.

in AC Milan vs Inter Highlights on Serie A Talk
Well kiko, Inter needed to concentrate first on their meeting with the Viola today and it looks like they couldn't find a winner. Fiorentina kept Inter busy and I can't wait to watch the repeat broadcast tomorrow on Fox.
I'd say they'll have their hands full with Genoa and Milito come weekend, won't be an easy match and Mourinho is currently changing up his squad which disappointed last match day also.

in ESPN2 Shows EPL Teams Too Often In Champions League on EPL Talk
Theory Time
Gaffer it's a puritanical hold-over from Early America. Some broadcasters assume English clubs are more akin to everything Americana, while neglecting the ever increasing Spanish-American reality and of course the large Italian-American minority.
I enjoy watching English sides but when it comes to Champions League play previous Cup winners such as Real Madrid, Juventus etc must get equal billing and not just when their opponents are an English side.

in Rossoneri Resurrection, AC Milan 4 - 1 Lazio on Serie A Talk
Borriello has to be given a chance ahead of Shevchenko and Ronaldinho.
Your right in asking if and when Ronaldinho fits in especially after the hefty price tag. (in fact most expensive transfer fee) who will Ronnie partner with? Milan definitely has depth up front now create that scoring partner between two.

Matt has asked about Serie A TV on broadband, " I want to see the Juventus/Cagliari game this weekend and was hoping it would be on there"
I'm currently looking into what the story is with their website which is closed at the moment. Matt here are your options for Juventus v. Cagliari this weekend, TSN in Canada or ESPN 360 in the US.
For further game listing see: http://www.livesoccertv.com/competitions/italy-...
The Bianconeri you really good by the way , Forza JUVE!

Sellotanta vs. Setanta.
In the words of Kevin Keegan "I will lovvvv it if they beat them"
Sellotanta def'n, from the two words, (cello)phane - regenerated cellulose in thin transparent sheets used especially for packaging, and the word tanta - a city of the Nile Delta.
cancelled my Setanta subscription last season, after experiencing the additional PPV charges for key matches.
