in How to Build an Upside-Down Fire: The Only Fireplace Method You’ll Ever Need on The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
Awesome! I'm excited to give it a try.
Combine this with the supposed 90% efficiency of a "Russian Fireplace" and you might have a killer combination.

p.s. Mother Earth News says Russian Fireplaces are the best performers thanks to 2 characteristics: "They contain enough masonry to provide a massive heat sink, and the interior flue path of each unit is arranged in a serpentine pattern so that hot waste gas has plenty of time to transfer its thermal energy into the walls of the stove."

in Spectrum Auction: How the Canadian Wireless industry has changed forever on WirelessNorth.ca
insightful article Ted. i think you're right...a Telus move to GSM all but assures them a #2 position in this market for a long time.

"Cope-Whistle" - :-) genius.

bringing a 30 minute sitcom or a hour long movie to the phone doesn't seem to gather much interest. but...i think the shorter format, made for mobile content might very well take off.

in argentina right now for example they're producing a 50 episode mobile soap opera. 4 minutes in length per episode and featuring some big teen stars. http://www.cellphones.ca/news/post003615/

that sort of custom video still stands a good chance of taking off in my opinion.

Jevon Well, they do have to truck those bits from one place to another. Why do you think your TXT message can be so delayed sometimes? (90 minutes for me today a few times)

yep, count me among the pessimists. 50% donation rate is a pie in the sky dream if you ask me. as for a straight pay model, i'm a pessimist there also. i think you'd see people abandon twitter for other services.

personally i think twitter stands a good chance adopting a premium service model. ala basecamp, the basic service is free and there are a couple pricing options (or a single option) above that. $12-$24 gets you unlimited tweets, no ads and a couple enhancements.
