I just signed up for the program. It looks good. Anyone had some success with them recently?

I agree with everybody here, and to be honest, I am a bit overwhelmed with the value of information here. Lol, most people will sell this for top dollar. Bravo for doing this and sharing it for free.

It is very inspiring to read how HP for instance grew their sales simply by using bloggers. Ok, I am sure there is some great money involved in campaigns like that, but it tells us as well, if they can do it, anyone can.

While social networking can be good for some (the people who know how to) It can be damaging to those who do not know how to go about it. Time consuming? Yes, if you want to do this proper, you will need to take out some serious time for it. Just like in the offline world really. I remember networking as a sales manager with Canon, you just do not rush in, shake a few hands, throw a few business cards left and right and go home, thinking your new contacts to become beneficial. This takes time. I am assuming this is the same with online networking.

The problem I see coming up due to this is that the less professional SEO 'experts' will get a better chance to mix in with the market and will manage to get more clients. However, these people are NOT real SEO specialists, they are merely people who have just discovered for instance the auto commenting tool and seen that some sites they promoted with this ranked, and now extending this 'SEO technique' to be included in their services which they offer to their new clients. The clients who will pay for this will maybe see a spurt in the short run of things, but, not knowing their site actually only becomes damaged.

Unfortunately, there are thousands of people who fall for the cheap way, and , as PS3 said so beautiful: If you pay peanuts you are likely to attract monkeys.

Well said Sir!

Now, let's find a way to safe guard people who are NOT aware of this. How can we?

Yes, it sounds very interesting indeed. The question I am left with is this: what is behind it? Why would Google offer this?

OK, Google, so when do we get the same functionality for instant indexing by Google web search? That would be cool.

I doubt it will ever come to that: Aren't their results based on ... importance and relevance etc?

The closest thing to that however is setting up a WP blog, post quality content, bookmark and near instant indexing gets close to be boring then. Cause, that is what it does.

I think they will get it done without any hassle form Google. Google may try, but Microsoft (in my opinion) has a better chance.

Remember, Microsoft is the provider of...? Yes, the operating systems most Dell computers run on, right? Well, at least this is how they are sold. Correct me if I am wrong...

So, I even think, there is no need to be spending the $45 bil.

They have something else they can play with.

They are pretty similar but, I guess, it will do better due to the fact it is 'Google' Same that more people would rather buy a Canon camera compared to a let's say Konica. It is the name. I for one will go and have a try. One site bloglog, other site Google.

Interesting to see what will happen. I find Google a lot of times to be pretty ignorant and arrogant. Especially to people who they might need in future. And, then I am referring to the many web masters they totally abuse and then say, sorry dude, your adsense account is closed. Why? Because we say so.

I dunno really. How about Knol?? They seem not to have been very successful with acquiring the domain knol.com Since the owner was wanting more than $1mil. for it. But, then again, Knol is quite developed.

I actually still like the Yahoo search engine, and with these nice features, they eve nbecome harder to resist. Sometimes, they come up with better related search results than Google. Can't really give any examples coming to think of it, but I remember having the feeling several times after using Yahoo and this feeling was one of delight and ease. Google might be the big money maker and player, they do have some decent competitors. I like Yahoo. At least they are MILES better than MSN. I do not like the way MSN uses some kind of stealth advertiser tool to place search results in your stat accounts. Annoying spammy behavior.

In case anyone does not know what I mean: I own a credit related site. Every so now and then (usually every second day) I get a visitor coming from MSN who searched credit. Sure, when I go and check it out, I am FAR from being seen on the first page, yet, MSN reaches my site using that search. I wonder what they try to do with this. Oh, it is not just this site that it happens to. Many others have seen it too.

I agree with Diamonds. And, I think it is quite scary too. Since Google has this position they pretty much can do whatever they like. Just recently I read about a blogger who got his Adsense account suspended due to a behavior which Google called dangerous for its advertisers. This guy claims he did nothing wrong, yet his account was closed, his money lost and Google never even bothered telling him what exactly was the matter. They told him they had to refund the PPC users (which I HIGHLY doubt they ever did). Now, ok, we know Google has its rules and if you do not like them, you should not sign up. But, since they have this position, a lot of people DO sign up and can be used OR abused at will by Google.

I was actually a bit surprised to see Google getting themes for their mail. However, the readeris an improvement. I am sure many people will find it easier to access. It also looks better I think. I wonder how long it will take before Google bids on either one or both of the companies. I believe Google has a take no prisoner attitude whenever it goes about owning advertising real estate online (and offline) Very, VERY interesting techniques. I would love to see more of it.

I have heard, or read rather on Andy Beard his blog that there are certain dangerous security leaks in those types of scripts. Or, at least there is a possibility they can be hacked pretty easy. I never use them.

This is a serious valuable post. Not only for the on line business entrepreneurs, but also very valuable for off line sales companies. I remember learning about it in college, and your twists on it compliment that theory nicely! Thanks for this great post. I never actually blown up the problems of my clients as of such, I merely threw some sands in the open wounds they had, making them feel more desperate to my solution. Maybe harsh, but a great way of making sales.
