in drink more water. on Matsie For the Win
Well, realistically, you have to drink a LOT of fucking water to cause hyponatremia. I mean, I don't know about you but half the people I know...I almost never see them drinking water. When they get thirsty, they reach for a pop or an energy drink or something flavored and carbonated and loaded with sugar. There really is no substitute for just water.
In my opinion, it's ok to have a pop every once in a while but making it your only source of liquid intake is kind of ridiculous. I speak from experience. In high school i got to that point where it was coffee in the morning, energy drinks and pop at night. Every day. No water. Then I developed kidney stones. Yay! Now I pretty much only drink water and coffee and fruit juice.
You're right about the "any liquid" thing, though, for the most part. I wouldn't put pop and energy drinks on that list, though, because they have a lot of added sugar, sodium, caffeine, etc. that just makes you more dehydrated. Same with alcohol, except for a different reason.
Heh, I didn't mean to write that much. I'm just one of those people that always suggests drinking a glass of water. For some reason that usually ends up being the problem. Good post, thought I'd give my input!

in These Aren’t Resolutions on Jonathan on the Internets
I can knock a few off that list for you:
We'll get a bunch of people together and take a road trip to California for comic con. Then you can write a screenplay about our experiences on the road and they'll make it into a best selling movie. We can also go to concerts and ice skate on the way. Well, maybe.
Also, I would take you to a rave if they still existed, but I don't think you'd want to be hanging out with a kandi kid.

in Strangest Conversation of the Night on Jonathan on the Internets
My hypothesis is that you got caught up in some sort of time portal or alternate dimension in time in which you had actually IMed the person first. That is the only explanation I can think of.

The thought had crossed my mind, but I'm not well-versed in time portals or alternate dimensions enough to be able to test that sort of hypothesis.

in A Thought On Method on Jonathan on the Internets
I'm kind of with you on the sporadic method. There are days when i'm just a bad writer and days when i'm an excellent one. I deal with it by using my off days to organize what i already have. Write down ideas, organize story arcs, work on character composition, and then i have all the grunt work done when i'm actually ready to piece it all together and write.

From now on, we should call it The Sporadic Method. Makes it seem more official. :) I like your method of getting the grunt work done when you're not feeling like much of a good writer. I should try that out and see if it helps during my writing slumps.

Comcast's problem is always on their end. They're evil. There's no way around it.

Oh for sure. That's why I switched to RCN. Now most of my internet problems are in fact my fault. It's so awesome! :)
