I gotta say, I am ebullient with this pick. Romney is a known quantity and though I could have gotten behind the pick, I wouldn't be thrilled by it. My God, a real friggin' person vs. the staid pols we have been dealt for so long. The beauty of Reagen was the fact that he had some underlying principals and he didn't waiver on them. Certainly he compromised on the non-essentials. I just sense that Palin isn't in this for the position. She wouldn't be human if some of it didn't go to her head but the position isn't her sole motivating factor. I am actually now voting for McCain vs voting against Obama. That is a huge difference.

The beauty w/ webfaction was that I was able to change a few things via a ssh shell to put in place django's svn version and use my own python version. You have lots of leeway even in a shared environment.

Just got off a technical chat w/ Gateway.  My laptop (m6811) was overheating the adapter cord so much that it was literally melting the plastic.  I received a box the next day, shipped it off, received the laptop back in less than a week.  Fixed the problem, installed a new DVD-RW as the original was broken and fixed the hinges.  Great.  Then two weeks latter the thing actually fries.  My wife thought a plastic spoon had fallen into the dishwasher.  Gateway won't touch it now.  I have a $1,000+ smelly hunk of plastic.  Shame.
