I love how fast FriendFeed is with a lot of things. I quite often see stories, find new content before it hits my feed reader and well before it makes it to digg and the like.
I like it so much that I'll even forgive that you cut off my excellent point in the picture above :)

That is a cute wizard.
Don't forget Twitter being down for most of MacWorld two days ago. This has not been a good week for uptime.

Yeah, Jaiku is definitely a site I use a lot less since Google bought them. I assume they're taking their sweet time with it as they plan to use it as a piece of Android which is just now starting to tease us.

A certain blogger may have only noticed because he is sadly still a Blockbuster Online member - still love the Total Access deal - hate the service. Survival of the fittest will win out.

Your fairly typical personal-attack/poorly-formed Digg comment. Very much teetering the line of making any sense.

@adam - you bet. kind of strange they rolled the lists out without that ready to go - especially if it's coming in the next few weeks... maybe they're gunshy now on massive roll outs post beacongate :)

Google talks about revenue-sharing in the post:
"If an author chooses to include ads, Google will provide the author with substantial revenue share from the proceeds of those ads."
That is one of the keys here, there is no reason to jump ship from Wikipedia, unless of course you get paid for it.

Hrm. Interesting.
When I originally read that (or the paragraph around it), I took it to mean you could sign up for an ad program and put it on there if you want.
Still, though, why would you share a fraction of adsense revenue with Google (which is meager to begin with, in most cases), when you can easily throw up pages elsewhere and monetize through more lucrative means?

in 2007/12/12/google-analytics-compare-site/ on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
I messed around with it a bunch earlier and I'm not sure that 'compare to site' actually means to another website, but rather to your own site's overall performance. It's a bit confusing how it's worded - their official post would no doubt clear this up - but at least right now this is no alexa-killer.

Definitely check out Croupier if you haven't already seen it. I knew he'd be a Hollywood star one day right after I saw it.

Yeah, I took a hit (down from 5 to 4) without any paid links or anything like that - I'm not too worried though cause it really hasn't seemed to effect anything, I think PR is definitely mattering less and less.

I actually own Greenfingers believe it or not - I was on a Clive Owen kick back in college (well before he was what he is today) after I saw Croupier and wasn having a hard time finding anything else he was in at the time.
I'm just shocked someone else has seen it!

in Apple OS X Leopard: Still Thumbs Up on Webomatica
I've only a few very minor issues as well - almost all of which were due to 3rd party apps just needing an upgrade. I thought Dave Winer calling it no good and then likening it to Windows was rather absurd - it seems almost like he's using a completely different product than me. Overall I love Leopard - true it's not a huge leap forward, but its perfected so many of the little subtle things that you do on a day to day basis that I think I actually prefer this route over drastic changes that require leaning a whole new way of doing things - if it ain't broke, just perfect it.

in Microsoft: Still a fair bit of juice left on Mathew's comments
Yes, Microsoft is great - at making money - this has been the case for a long time. That hardly makes them a great company however.
The Halo sales are impressive, but I've long thought the Xbox division was the only division within Microsoft that seemed to do things that made sense, that appears to be panning out now.
The 88 million is a big number, but you hit it right on the head, Microsoft won't give out the number that actually sold to consumers. As I've said before it's like if a crappy movie opened at #1 at the box office because theaters are giving away tickets due to long-standing relationship with the studio behind it.
As you noted, the likelihood they have another quarter like that every quarter is not so good moving forward. Halo 4 isn't coming out next quarter and Vista will still be Vista. Expectations could be their worst enemy now.

Yep, Google Dice back in April - don't know anyone that uses it - certainly not enough to talk about even when it's essentially the same thing as StumbleUpon.

in Is StumbleUpon better than Google? on Mathew's comments
One of the very interesting things in all of this is that Google actually had a StumbleUpon or sorts in place before StumbleUpon did.
I think this is one of the few times where Google dropped the ball on the potential of a new service...

I am completely addicted to "All I Need" right now. I'm not really sure why. Something about the beat. It kind of reminds me of Thom Yorke's solo "Harrowdown Hill"

in Radiohead: Not so revolutionary after all? on Mathew's comments
That's very interesting. I think the same type of thing happened with Pearl Jam a few years back when their deal expired with Sony and there was rumor they were thinking about releasing a new record entirely by themselves before eventually signing with the Clive David-led J Records. I guess we're not entirely at the point yet where a band can completely go it alone.

Not everyone wants to be on all of them.
