Woah, heavy stuff. Sorry to hear! Hope you'll get well soon and that the chemo treatment won't be too heavy.

Hitting close to home actually since my mom was recently diagnosed with cancer and is a terminal patient (but then again, life is terminal).

Actually, now that I think about her situation... I might just have to #BlameDrewsCancer !

;-)

Good luck man. Stay strong! Stay positive!

Well, I guess they must believe Facebook members are crazy perverts for seeing breastfeeding and cancer scars as something sexual.

in Second Judge in Pirate Bay Trial Removed for Bias on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Ridiculous! I've been reading Peter's blog and they need to be getting more careful there in Sweden. It's almost like they're conspiring to get them judged, but conspiracy should happen behind closed doors and these torrent fanatics are some of the best people in the world to open doors, or at least see straight through them.

Politicians need to start worrying about their jobs. This stuff might give the pirate party some serious headway.

What I'm more concerned about is civil unrest though. I'm really starting to believe this stuff might lead to riots in Sweden.

TwoPageAfro I can't see riots happening in Sweden over piracy laws, lol! I guess we'll see though.

A mistake in here. BitTorrent is not a file-sharing site, just like Firefox.com is not a site about surfing the web. BitTorrent is an application.

Thanks for sharing. There are some similar researches that show the same; one commissioned by the Canadian government even. Although reports of IFPI/RIAA quote research reports that show negative correlations of course.

Drix Actually.. bittorrent isn't even av application, it's a technology, used by the applications you use to download content from the users of torrent-hosting sites.

Haha, what a joke this trial is. TPB is winning, even through losing.

in Torrent Sharing Comes to Facebook: Will the RIAA Step In? on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
I believe Facebook will try to filter it... but I'm sure they have a big legal team themselves and they don't want to be spending so much time on the never-ending copyright wars.

Bryan I hope that we can still share files with Facebook. I post my bandcamp files, my own compositions, with my friends on facebook. I like doing that, I hope it continues. I also do hope that record companies find a way to fight this illegal file sharing. I know things are changing, but artists should get paid for the work they do.

in China: Tibet Video is Fake, But We’ll Block Entire YouTube Anyway on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Not the only country banning all of YouTube for a 'subversive' video. I previously lived in Turkey and YouTube's banned over there too.

ina I have expererienced that as well in Turkey. And other things, like Google groups. Sometimes for a week, sometimes more, sometimes less.

The stangest thing is that nobody makes a fuss about it. Seemed normal...

That's just plain stupid. This way everyone will just make less money, not more. The ISPs, the entertainment companies and all internet businesses. S-t-u-p-i-d.

Thanks for this, Robert & Mike! And I'm sorry for Mike, being spat on and being threatened to death is not how a blogger/journalist like him should be treated. I also feel sad that he's no longer able to believe people are innately good :-\
