Absolutely, you brought up a good point. It takes a lot of initiative and determination from the women that joined La Cocina, since they've got to put in some investment and they've got to have the mindset to make this work!

I was 14, a freshman in high school when the challenger disaster happened. I remember teachers telling all of us what was going on, and later, at home..wathcing the news as they were trying to figure out what happened. A terrible day in our history, much like 9-11, that we will always remember where we were and what we were doing.

Michael Buble was in Fayetteville last winter, I got tickets to the Walton Arts Center and went, not really thinking that I would enjoy it..honestly, I went because I thought he was hot..but..I did enjoy the show..You guys will love it.

I'm glad to find others interested in the same issues. I would take a practical approach to this:
If there are sufficient capable people to choose from, then we can afford to be more selective in terms of staff.

However, I don't believe that staff of social enterprises should be paid less as a rule of thumb. They deserve to be rewarded for their abilities and talents, if they so please. Furthermore, they have families, financial commitments and other dreams just the same as anyone else.

To me, social enterprises and businesses can both have a profit motive. The difference is the way profit is distributed. With a social enterprise, the majority of profits will back to the community that it serves in some way. For a business, the profit is distributed to shareholders.

At last year's social enterprise forum here, a speaker made a similar comment and pointed out that the line between social enterprises and socially-responsible businesses is blurring in this sense.

Franks may be a bit egotistical but at least he's intelligent and he works for the people. He used to sit on the House floor calling constituents in his area introducing himself and asking if there were any concerns that they had. Politics or not, GREAT IDEA!
Sidenote: I've often wondered if the Dem Party knew what an idiot Rod was when they decided he should be a candidate. I asked someone that once and they said, "Sure we did, but we thought he'd surround himself with better people."

things will get better. i, too, am a mom of twins...they are 2, i also have an 8 year old. I can remember the stress i had when the twins were months old and not because of only them but it just seemed like everything stressful happenibg at once! Things are better.. still stressful but in a different way..a good way! Keep your head up and just look at ALL of your PRECIOUS children and be thanful that with everything else that is going on at least they are healthy and happy! I love checking your blog daily!!

So I am starting today and my goal is to do it for 2 weeks. I have about 0 willpower so I don't know how long I'll last. I have a very bad digestive system for whatever reason ever since I was about 10 so I'm hoping this will cleanse my system and make my body feel better. Also, how much sea salt should I put in the saline solution?
