for Truls, Martin has gone to various event with other hackers and during keysignings has shown an ID that was purchased by a fake state and has gotten folks to sign his GPG key. So he questions the purpose of keysignings if hackers will sign his key that is 'fake'. Most folks do not have the ability to authenticate any ID, so using it to allow someone to sign a GPG key has dubious value.

in On ebooks and living in the future on dria
Ever since Computers started and Star Trek showed us those cool portable displays, geeks have longed for something like ebook readers. And with the birth of E-ink, that dream is closer. But every incarnation has that blasted DRM -- the anti-consumer technology de jure. After I slideshow'd the cool pixs, I read your review and was waiting for other shoe to drop, the DRM shoe, killing a great thing. And sure enough, there it was. The only reason to buy a device like this is to read a book and they make it so overly hard and expensive to get one. The next step is of course to rev-eng mobipocket format and start making a tex-2-mobi module or similar ;-) Is Jon Johansen busy this week?

in Strawberry season! Eee! on dria
One of the best memories I have of living in a place where we picked strawberries (oswego, Ny) was the making of fresh strawbery jam. The pot filled with all the pulp, sugar and pectin, bubbling slowly, emitting a sugary sweet aroma of strawberry ooze and then the caning of the jam afterwards in those cute little ball jars. We'd dip wonder bread in the pot for a treat and taste the hot, fresh jam while it cooked. Nothing bought in a store can compare.

That is quite a fishy tale! And since I'm in New york, maybe I'll walk-by those $1,000-a-dinner place until I can afford to actually eat something there. In the meanwhile, I can only dream of eating what that man ate :-)
