Benny Shendo would be a great representative for the 3rd Congressional District. Joe Monahan and the main stream media would do a great service to the people of the 3rd CD and the state by highlighting Benny Shendo's stance on the issues.

Heating & powering our homes & businesses is just a part of the problem we all face today. We not only need to invest in solar & wind energy production, rather than to continue investing in fossil fuels or nuclear energy, but we need to find a suitable replacement for plastics. Almost every product manufactured has some component made with plastics or shipped using some form of petrochemicals.

If Clinton does not win by a wide margin in Pennsylvania today, then she is likely to drop out of the race. She is behind in the overall votes, states won, delegate count & money raised. Without a major victory today, which is highly unlikely, she'll unable to coninue with her campaign. Time to start Obama & McCain to pick a VP.

Unfortunately, nuclear weapons are needed, but just not in the numbers we have now. LANL needs to do more in cleaning up and not just at the funding trough.

I find it odd that the federal & state government recognize the need for a more secure, tamper-proof identification & now have a plan to issue such drivers license and I'D cards but no plan to ensure that the requisite source documents are not secure nor is there a plan to make those source documents secure.

Is the reporter racist or is the article worthy of Fox News? Could he have used a better adverb than "mumble"? Maybe. But I wasn't there to hear if the Governor mumbled or not. Maybe, to the reporter, the Governor's Native language just sounds like mumbling.

To me, based upon this one article, I do not believe David Garcia is racist or should be working for Fox News. It does leads me to think that he does not know what the Governor had in his fingers or what he said- or at least he has the good sense in not writing about it.

I must say that I'm also having some problems with the margins. The problems I'm having is that the margins are too narrow when I read the articles and especially posting comments while on my PDA.

I'd also like to see a section for articles relevant to the Pueblos & Tribes, such as the different sections for Politics, the Environment, and Education.

This is a "lose-lose" situation all the way around. Someone will get the short end of the stick, either by not having the funding for the infrastructure, people at a continued economic disadvantage due the lack of local retail stores & driving long distances (gas prices anyone?), or more urban sprawl to the advantage of the developers and a negative impact to the region with an increased Urban Heat Island Effect.

95% of the Arctic Slope is already open to drilling & oil production. Further expansion into the Arctic Refuge will permanently scar the last pristine wilderness in North America.

This area is the calving grounds for the Porcupine Caribou herd, which is considered sacred to the Gwich'in Athabascan people, who have relied on the caribou for thousands of years.

If the authorization to drill in the Arctic Refuge today, it would only lower the price of fuel at the pump by only 1¢ and the supply would last for 6 months- if that long.

We have reached, or will soon reach, the peak of oil production. Finding new sources of readily available oil deposits will only get harder as time goes on.

Not only we must find a safe, economical alternative source of fuel for our transportation needs & to heat & light our homes and places of work, we need to find an equally safe and economical alternative to petro-chemicals (plastics) that we use in almost every consumer product bought & sold today.

Wind & solar power are great alternatives to using fossil fuels, but that is only part of the answer. Drilling in the Arctic Refuge & other sensitive areas is not the solution we are looking for.

Whether the report was released now or at the end of the month, Vigil-Giron is either incompetent or a criminal for not following the law & squandering millions of dollars. Will the report being released 2 weeks early really make much of a difference to the voters? With the history of New Mexico politics, we’ll have to wait until November to know for sure.

Many RR voters stood in long lines to vote because the Democratic Party failed to anticipate the large voter turnout. Hopefully the SoS won't make the same mistake.

Why not have the city zoning laws require all new businesses & homes built be required to have at least solar panels on the roof to off-set the energy consumption? I'd like to see even more done (i.e. wind power & water reclaimation) but the developers & Mayor Marty would balk at that.

I'm not sure that I'm more surprised that Martin Heinrich remembered all those e-mails and blog posts from Darren White or that they could still be found after all these years. The government at all levels, federal, state, county & municipal, are secular governments & base their laws upon the US Constitution, not upon the bible or any other religious text or dogma.

The New Mexico state law prohibits discrimination based upon that person's race, color, national origin, religion, ancestry, gender, age (if 40 or over), physical and mental handicap, serious medical condition, disability, spousal affiliation, sexual orientation and gender identity.

If someone has a compelling arguement that is not based upon a religios belief of why only a man and a woman can marry, I'd like to hear it.

Although I'm an advocate for renewable energy (solar & wind power), I'm not a fan of these types of projects. Personally, I think instead of building huge wind farms and the then needed transmission lines to carry that energy to homes & businesses, it would be more cost efficient and to install solar panels & smaller wind turbines on individual homes & businesses.

Building codes should be changed so that all new construction of residential & commercial property includes the installation of wind & solar power. Also, existing homes & businesses should also begin a phased retrofitted with wind & solar power so that within 10 years, all buildings are off the power grid.

I think it is a viable alternative to continued dependence on coal-powered & nuclear-powered power plants, which both have some serious drawbacks. The big drawback of my idea is that it is a threat to existing power-producing corporations that rely on our continued dependence on their system and that monthly payment to keep them in business.
