Everytime I check your blog it looks different.... are you really going to keep this layout? ;)
As for China, blah! The human rights issue is huge, but also consider, the environmental conditions the world's greatest athletes will have to perform in. I was watching the news not too long ago (it's not a regular practice of mine) and learning about the air quality or I should say, lack thereof where the games will be held. It's cruel to make athletes compete under such horrible conditions... and China said they'd clean up their air. Yeah, right.

Only 2 choice words! I thought with a heading like that you would have said a U-Haul full. ;)
Just this week I broke 3 needles working on a wedding dress and they didn't just break, they practically exploded in my face as I stitched through a bead or tight embroidery or something. At feeling the shard of needle hit my closed (thank the Lord for good reflexes) eyelid I uttered, "Mother

At feeling the shard of needle hit my closed (thank the Lord for good reflexes) eyelid I uttered, "Mother ------!!" of all words... thankfully my sewing machine was the only witness to my outburst (of which it gets many I'm afraid to say.)
My girlfriend shared with me last night that she feels a little relieved when a person of certain spiritual integrity uses a four-lettered expletive because then she knows they are just a regular person too. Thanks for being humble enough to publicly share yours. I hope you'll be laughing at this story really soon. :)

Okay Randy, thanks for the draft ;)
1. Everyone keeps saying "a house all my own".... but I don't have one, However, I am thankful for a RENT-FREE apartment on a beautiful piece of property right next to my folks.
2. The way my daughter twirls around in the dresses I make for her.
3. New dresses.
4. A cozy, comfy bed to sleep in every night.
5. My 3 kids, they make all the sacrifices worthwhile.
6. Trees, all year round, are just so amazing to me.
7. The ability to dance.
8. The feel of sunshine on my face, especially in the midst of a dreary winter.
9. My dorky minivan that lets me cart my children where ever we need to go.
10. Girlfriends who think I'm "awesome" ;)--they are awesome too!

If Randy doesn't want math involved in his cooking, I doubt he'll want science ;)
OK here's a family favorite (great for cooking to impress your friends but super simple):
Honey Baked Chicken:
equal parts honey and melted butter OR canola oil (about 1/3- 1/2 cup)
a big spoonful of yellow mustard (1Tablespoon)
a small spoon of curry powder (1 teaspoon)
a small spoon of salt (1 teaspoon)
Mix together in a bowl dip raw chicken pieces in and then place in a shallow baking pan sprayed with cooking spray oil. (You can use one of those foil lasagna pans from the supermarket and then you don't have to clean up after). Pour remaining sauce all over chicken and baste every 15 minutes (or as you feel inclined). Bake at 400 for 1 hour.
Great served with white rice and steamed veggies.
Above recipe makes enough sauce for about 4 servings, so you can reduce by half if you are cooking for one with leftovers.
Randy and other bachelors,
I find that if you are going to take the time and trouble to cook, always cook extra, you can eat it the next day for lunch or dinner again. OR even freeze it for a homemade microwaveable meal.

in Did God Break My Car? on ETC: Everyday Thoughts Collected
I think it's good you stayed silent with the Tow driver. Perhaps he will wonder about this sometime, why that white dude today wasn't chiming in on his rant... Then again, maybe he isn't a reflective person. I would say, trust your gut with the confrontational aspect. It has been my experience that when the Holy Spirit wants us to act on something, he doesn't leave us alone about it. But I think it'd be wisest to talk to the man and then if he still gives you a hard time, report it to the company. That seems like a biblical approach to conflict. It wasn't appropriate "professional" behavior, although I think we generally have lower expectations for truck drivers (not that we should) and sort of expect that kind of thing (not that we should).
I like this design better than the last one. But I won't get too attached to it. ;)

I love Mel. I think it is unreasonable for anyone to expect someone (even a professing believer) so in the spotlight to not make a mistake EVER. He is contrite and repentant, and we can't judge his intentions, only his actions to see if they match his words.
You know people, just because someone is a believer, is saved, born-again etc., doesn't mean they are perfect. Sin remains in us all, only we have the power of the Holy Spirit to receive the help to overcome it when we are willing.
Remember the saying, "Please be patient, God isn't finished with me yet" ? Obviously Mel has learned that those who throw stones shouldn't live in glass houses, and if they do, there are consequences.
