Why are independent artists even looking at Tunecore, when http://routenote.com offers such a great service for unsigned and independents? Artists have to sell more than 10,000 tracks before Tunecore earns the artist more money than RouteNote!!

It is good to see Dell have moved onto Twitter and other social platforms and they are actually bringing in more people and sales to their site, but im not really too sure that it is very significant.

What I really dont like about sites like this is the fact that they use the content of each blog, then turn it into their own page, so the actual blog and story doesnt get any traffic from the site. So there better be some benefit in terms of link juice or it is just another complete waste of time!

Im not too sure about the design. I agree with Kevin in terms of the fonts etc. they are a lot better now. I think the design is more professional, but it wont help your blog in the long run, because it just doesnt stand out as much, plus you need to click thru just to see the articles.

Im also not too sure how your videos will link it, because i know you do a great deal of videos.

Media Temple are a good hosting company and is good to hear they are making improvements.. but new services isnt the area in which i think Media temple should change. I used to use them, but had huge problems with security and malicious code on our sites.. so had to move away.

This all just seems to be on the back of the recent press about Digg losing so much money every year. Job cuts are needed if Digg is going to make profit and then this will lead to attracting a buyer. A buyer will not purchase the company if they keep losing so much money.

Mashable seems to have more advertising than Techcrunch. Techcrunch probably makes more revenues because of its events business. However, mashable probably does get more traffic because they do a lot of list posts when Techcrunch does none.

Songcast just looks like a basic company that has reworked the Tunecore business model.

Another company that is doing something a little different is, http://routenote.com. Unlike CDBaby there are no upfront fees. Unlike Tunecore there is not money or yearly fees. Unlike the Orchard they dont take a large cut of your earnings.

RouteNote has just launched and has no upfront fees and only takes 10% of net revenues. Free to sign up, anyone can sign up, doesnt tie up your royalties and is easy and simple to use. RouteNote will also be launching other services in the coming months which will make it more than just a distribution company!

Steven what the hell are you talking about. This is not a game changer at all. This is just what a lot of other video companies are already doing. The only difference is that google did it, so you can buy the advertising in their marketplace (Adwords).

I think it was a good move from Ted and for PayPerPost the rebranding of the umbrella company needed to come sooner rather than later. However, this being said im not too sure about the branding itself. It all seems very web2.0 and tacky. There is no iconic imaging. Prob need a better graphic designer Ted.
