in Lazy Launch Days Are Numbered on Marketers Board
Affiliates can increase control dramatically by creating unique bonuses.
Concept 1: Offer a bonus for buyers. This way you capture all the buyers details in a qualified list. You can market to that list for the next launch.
Concept 2: Have your bonus included inside the launch members area for the 'shock and awe' part of the launch. I recently did this for a big launch and built a huge list of qualified targeted buyers.
My big idea is this:
... affiliates should be product owners if they want to control the game
Regards
James

in The Death of Forced Continuity: A Review on The Michel Fortin Blog
It appears the market is moving where it should. I don't know why so many people got away with it for so long but at least other people can see where this is heading.

in Don’t Buy CPA Arbitrage Conspiracy on John Cow dot COM
Controversial posts like this are link bait and very effective! Well done.
Just as manipulative as the hype surrounding the product in question it brings in the opinions and opens up another traffic magnet for Arbitrage Conspiracy prospects, fair minded experts as well as fearful success haters who love having a way to justify failure.
Jerry West has done very well from his 40 minute attendance.
John Cow has done well and so too will the people who comment on the blog.
I've been fortunate enough to learn some stuff from Aymen and he is a very smart operator. Not all those who take the course will take advantage of the lessons but some will.
The concepts of research, testings, running a business and campaign optimization are good fundamentals top possess in most IM related business models.
Good stuff!

in Is there any return on investment in social media? on Online Social Media Frontier
Social media is often hosted by commercial operators who make money selling ads or data from user generated content.
I don't agree Social Media is just for socializing.

in Blog Commenting for Traffic on The Friday Traffic Report
Great topic Jack!
I get lots of spammers hitting my blog comments because I leave the follow on, however my friends comment because they want to get the link love.
When that software came out to find blogs mine got belted. (Still do).
I publish any comments that are not spam and I never check to see when I make comments on blogs like yours. People waste such a lot of time trying to be clever when they could just spread a wider net.
It is not about the links for SEO, it is about links for people to come and visit because they like your comments and want to socialize! The extra traffic and visits will help your site get noticed.
The SEO part takes care of itself.

James

Charles,
I think testing is a great way to arrive at a conclusion!
Possibly the main social networks are in the business of data selling and have users contribute content. So it seems fair they can also be used for legitimate linking purposes.
The main adjustment for old marketers is the fact that they can't just ram it one way anymore. People can just un-follow and they have been voted off instantly. There is more accountability than before. (That is why I mentioned being real).
The smart ones are quickly scrambling to learn social media with declarations like "I was wrong about Twitter - it really is good...."
This is a great revolution for the industry.

James

Charles,
(I just twittered this post).
I am shocked that it took 10 people 2 years to figure out you have to be trusted and provide value...this should be obvious.
Did you mention being real - this is essential in an environment where people are not able to hide easily. It also creates goodwill.
(Typo in statement 9 part 2 - you can edit if required)

in Why Are Some People So Stupid? on The Friday Traffic Report
Bravo!
Great to read something so true and cutting. It annoys me when my google alerts bring back junk. Does anyone still think this is a long term strategy that will pay for a decent lifestyle?
If you have a look in any popular IM forum the most popular threads relate to short cuts and easy methods....
Makes it easier for us hard working guys!
