I looked at the UB Educational Technology Center and didn't see references to OpenOffice.org as a technology option. Are they by any chance offering OpenOffice.org CDs or classes to students?

Thanks,
Solveig

Re: Denver Under the Weather: Blizzard 2006

It was actually kind of fun -- we haven't been snowed in this bad in quite a while, and being forced to just stay home once in a while is nice. And it's totally free, of course. There's no problem with installing OpenOffice.org on the same machine with Microsoft Office or another office suite. (No conflict with other software period, as far as I know.) It of course runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, Solaris, OS/2, and more.

Anyone who's used an office suite will be able to play around with OpenOffice.org and do simple tasks immediately. There's also a lot of online help.

~ Solveig

Re: How Do Make Text Into Links In My PDF?

Hi,

I'm so glad you posted on this! I have a blog that outlines the whole process. Step by step, how to do the links, create the PDF, etc.
http://openoffice.blogs.com/openoffice/2006/01/...

I also have a blog on the batch convert-to-PDF feature in OpenOffice.org.
http://openoffice.blogs.com/openoffice/2006/02/...
