in Your opinions please on Wizzard's Blog
I've always liked to just maintain a single personal account on the social networks and promote all my blogs through them. The more separate accounts you have the more difficult it gets to maintain them all. Eventually you end up with a collection of unmaintained social sites.
So the fewer you have the more time you have to create content for your blogs.
The exception would be if you have a particular blog that just takes off with massive popularity, then you'd want to re-think your strategy a bit.

in Twitter’s “What are you doing?” on Wizzard's Blog
I like the "What are you doing now?" prompt. It starts off the new users using Twitter in a casual way as they find their groups and topics. There's a lot of people out there using Twitter for some serious business, could certainly frighten away a lot of people if that were their first impression.
When I first saw this post I was worried it was going to go into one of those "how to properly tweet" rants. I've always felt it's up to the individual how they choose to use it. Just like the personal computer itself, you can use it play games or you can use it to design cities. It's a tool and how you use it is up to you. @pfmonaco

in Magpie the Twitter Advertising service on Wizzard's Blog
I've heard a lot of chatter about Magpie, but have yet to see (or notice) any advertisments in my twitter stream. I guess I'll have to see how it goes.
One person with a 1:20 ratio is unlikely to annoy, but if everyone I followed had a 1:20 ratio than I can see the timeline getting pretty clutterd and some mass unfollowing happening.
I scrolled back thru your past twitters and no obvious advertisments jumped out at me. Have magpies been generated yet from your account or does it take time for them to target the proper ads to your topics?

in What’s the difference between religion and myth? on jay martinez dot blog
There once was a time when people believed Mercury on his chariot pulled the Sun across the skies. I believe stories like this, as well as those in more modern religious texts where simply dramatic ways of explaining situations and philosophies to a population that lacked the capacity to understand the concepts in details.
Once you strip away the "micracles" and other events that seem to go beyond human limits, you'll find that the various beliefs of the world are in fact very similar.
Though I'm a practicing Buddhist, I believe at the core we really all believe the same things and through the following of a formal religion we really are all trying to keep our moral compas aligned.

in what this world needs. on jay martinez dot blog
I hang with a unique crowd and hove some friends who enjoy being "do unto'd" in ways I'm not into.. but seriously...
As a member of the Soka Gakkai ( www.sgi.org ) this is something I actively work towards on a daily basis.
1 - World Peace. Every live is precious. Period.
2 - Acceptance, not tolerance. We are all the same. Sure we may have a few differences in opinions but at the core we all have similar desires and dreams.
3 - Humanism. Charity is a band-aid, a quick, temporary fix. We need to work towards building a self-sufficient global community. We all have the resources, we just need to pull it together.
** Never Underestimate the power of One Person **

in Discovery Channel Responds on jay martinez dot blog
I'm no lawyer and I don't play one on TV but I've never had the patience to wait for these things to be legitamized. I would simply go ahead with your plans and if they don't like it, they'll let you know.
Once you get that first "cease and desist" letter by certified mail, they arn't quite so scary anymore.
Look at it this way, if it did turn into a federal case between Discovery and you, the notariety would certainly peak the interest of others in the fitness field that would SEEK YOU OUT to do a show with their workout programs.

in Ok I have lost! on jay martinez dot blog
Great to see you get back at it! I've had a discouraging few weeks myself, weight seems to be going in wrong direction for me yet pants are feeling loose, go figure. But I continue to move more and eat less.. I know it will catch up. Press on!

in Google Cult is Out, I eat my APPLE and say pick me! on jay martinez dot blog
For what it's worth.. in the past Apple pretty much outsourced everything. 15 years ago I did the repair, training, net design route with Apple... or should I say Eastman Kodak... (yep, that camera people) whom Apple hired to handle those things (including all warranty work). On the record and by the book I was "Apple Factory train and Certified" but never have actually met an Apple employee but plenty who've been trained by someone who's beet trained by someone who thinks they know someone who works there.
Of course that was many years ago.. back when Appletalk was the way to connect and the Quadra line was all the rage. I'm sure things have changed dramatically these days.
On the plus side, with the scarcity of training available, if you get yourself well versed on the development side, I imagine there can be some lucrative opportunities to be had.
Best of luck my friend!

in Weight Check Update on jay martinez dot blog
Glad to hear your getting better! Ease yourself back into your routine, don't push too hard as your body's still healing even though you feel better. I'm only on week two here, first week was an easy 5 lbs, looks like it's only going to be 1 lb this week but at least the trend is in the right direction.
Keep it up!
