I see that I am not alone in the confusion with the new skating scoring system. I found the complete rules in PDF form, tried to read them but my head started hurting. I am glad that you recognize Michelle Kwan for being the class act that she is. Let me know if you figure the scoring system out. I am going to take to aspirin and try again in the morning.

Great picture. I like the contrast of the blue on the left and the oranges on the right. Way cool with the reflections in the water. Our skies here have looked like that for awhile here because of the Ralston Fire in Placer County. Yuk yuk air quality. Makes you choke but provides lovely sunsets.

Hope the fire there gets contained soon - after you get more great shots that is.

The fire near here is almost contained - hopefully. The bad air has been enough to keep the most of us inside. It is much cleaner now that the delta breeze has come in. Lower temps too. Idaho has fire issues also - my cousins husband posted some pics on his blog - yucky yucky brown.

Hope the Santa Anas stop blowing long enough to get the fire out.

The bad air quality is starting to get very old around here also. Same deal - it starts to clear out and then here it comes again. Cough cough. This morning I woke up to the burning wood odor. Seems your fire is 35% contained - 106,675 acres gone up in smoke. Hope they get a handle on it soon so you can breath easier.

First off - IT REALLY SUCKS ( I do know ) when money is tight, ya do your best, and some (censored) phone person acts as if your are pond scum. Well, they are Whale poop and ya know where that is - the bottom of the ocean - they are lower than low.

Don't kick yourself for the forgot to pay attention stuff - that happens a lot when money is slim to me anyway. I tend to forget just for self preservation perhaps.

Even when I am totally wrong I expect a bit of common courtesy and the circular flight patterns (call centers) of big businesses drive me nuts!

Remember: You can't eat an elephant in one bite
and the bill collectors can't eat you either.

Ok,
The best car I have ever owned as far as dependability, comfort, and usefulness is and still is my 1994 Toyota Camry Wagon. Unfortunate that they have quit importing them to the US. It has over 140,000 on it and the only work ever done on it other than the usual oil changes etc was some gasket to do with the fuel injection.

It has been fishing, camping, and then cleaned up and shuttled VIP's around LOL.

My four door 2002 PreRunner does the job but gag - I have the evil payments to show for it!

I am with Lee - if I had one car - it would be another wagon.

Nice post. I do appreciate your posts - thoughts. I have not and never expect to find you compromising your opinions/writings over payperpost.

The one blog I did remove from my scant sidebar list changed - lots of ads, lots of BS (in my opinion). I also noticed a big increase in spam after each and every visit to it. No visit average spam. One visit - 20 spam.

It surprized me that this turned into such a big deal. Your writings have always been staight foward and honest. I guess the problem maybe some bloggers are not so upfront.

Keep doing what ya do. I hope you know how good your blog is - the writing and the photos. :)

I am sorry I missed the show :(

The last week my dsl connection has been on and off again. Havoc created with the wirless networking here - aughhhhh.... Then the power went out - twice - for a few seconds. The computer is on the UPS along with all the important cables - except - the power to the dsl modem LOL opps - it is just on a surge protector. But after everything came back to life - like magic - so did the dsl connection - at top speed no less!

I am planning on colorizing my new blog look - someday . .. just not sure if I want the oh my shocking bright or the subdued pastels or ... maybe just plain for awhile. I am leaning toward the natural colors.

I am researching the effects of colors on blog site visit times. It is amazing the differences between men and women when it comes to colors and their impact.

Scientology - the more you post about it the more I hate it :)

My other favorite is: using a friends computer to go online, being directed to a live chat session, and then being told - you need to have access to the computer you are having the problem with so we can run a test . ...

I know this is not the greatest suggestion but why not go back to prior version? I am still using it here but have 2.0 on my laptop - :( The old feed reader does not work so had to use new one on the laptop - not as nice. I have not even tried the search boxes LOL guess I will not.

The new explorer drove me nuts. went back to older one. I am so resistant to change anymore . .. fuddy duddy I guess. I am still trying to get my outlook to work imap style on my new site. My domain name is working - only three hours wait! woo hoo.
Now if I can the mail to work :( I am so confuse uh did . ..

If I ever get the stupid domain mail working I will send ya some - maybe it is too fun to see if anyone can find me there . .. mostly did so I can set up a site and a blog and see if I can make it seemless . ... plus geocites yahoo has too many restrictive stuff to be able to play and have fun. One thing is I usually do not get hacked :) very secure I guess.

The cpanel has so many options to look at and learn. Parked vs add on domains I might require your knowledge on these matters woo hoo 20 subdomains too.

So far just index html and folder for blog with wordpress installed in it not sure how to change to subdomain for the wordpress folder yet .. kmilyun - altering realities

I am in awe at your ability to to post on Nov 15th when my computer thinks it is Nov 14th your trek into the future baffles me LOL

Part of the fun of blogging and the whole computer deal is hunting down and conquering the crazy whims of the errant bits and bytes - well I tried to be supportive LOL.

Last time I had this problem it was caused by my own human error - I had somehow changed the time settings in WordPress - although I do not remember changing them :)

Tweak away I am waiting to see what theme you change to - perhaps one with a Back to the Future flare.

eh sorry about the above - it is the same error I recieved when I had that plug in installesd on my new blog after I tried to delete an archive page I was trying to set up. Also there is info out on ajax time formats being diff than wordpress's

There is an old ticket recently reopenned for wordpress about ajax dating problems and atom feeds something like that anyway. The plugin created the same result in my other blog so I tossed it with the wash water.

Wow! I remember a time my in High School career. I was always in the Choir - from the 7th grade on. When it came to tryouts for the a cappella choir (top choir in the school) I knew I was not a good enough singer to make the grade. My best friend tried out for it successfully. I was happy for her and I had already learned the leasons you mention - the one where sometimes you are not the best at something and you do not always "get in". She and her boyfriend both shared the fun they had with me and others. Our school a cappella choir was one of the best in the area. Also they made a sad mark in history when their bus went over a guard rail in 1976 killing 28 students and 1 teacher. This is where I learned the life is not always fair part.

It is obvious that many young people today expect the American Dream rather than work towards attainment. We seem to live in a society where children are not taught to succeed and try try again but to cry cry cry again cause it is somehow a right to suceed without effort.

It must be tuff to be a parent and not understand that fact that not everyone has every talent. Your kid may or may not be musically talented. Your kid just might discover a new particle or cure cancer - if they learn how to apply themselves and not expect a freebee feel good warm and fuzzy everytime they try something.

That is a good thing! The distance from the school district - emm remember when the schools - oh never mind LOL.

My best friend unfortunatly did not survive the wreck :(. I do not remember ever being jealous of her. I just really really have a not so good vocal ability! I can play anything with strings - well not since my stokes - but I have a crummy voice LOL!

It is pleasant to read about Stick's an his willingness to put the effort in to use his talents - cheers to Stick's and the drumline.
Wow contracts? I just remember you signed up put in the effort and if you were good enough you advanced. What are the contracts for and what do the fees cover. Man I am so out of this new school stuff. When the kids we helped out lived with us I rememeber going nuts over the fact that they did not have text books that they could bring home! How the heck do you teach a child to outline his study chapter with out the book!

I hope you make a video of the drumline and post it. Nothing beats the precision of a well tuned drumline!

Your hooked on red this week eh? I am jealous. I walked all around the complex today looking for anything with some color. LOL :( I found one bush with four small red berry looking things - it is a very common shrub that usually has lots of red on it - not now! I really noticed how our neighboorhood lacks any color. No solution when reading around the net (now vs then) I can find many reviews that list this as one of the camera's major faults - hind sight :(

I know what I do not know about photography is great but I swear this camera and I are never going to have a long and warm relationship! At least it should cooperate a bit when in total automatic mode eh? Too much light - purple, zoom in all the way - purple, look up and take a picture on a cloudy day of the tree branches - purple. Open the shutter up for a nite shot - purple. noise and purple fringing even at midrange apertures.

Great camera for vacation type shots but after that - augh!!!

Wow talk about something that is all so NOT OK. At this point I would be thrilled if someone used one of my photos as it would mean I actually took a picture someone thought worthy of stealing. And, yes, that is the word stealing. I love looking at everyones shared (for viewing) work on flikr - I learn from them, I strive to accomplish what others have - especially McShutters Egret pics LOL!

Nice post. I refrain from blogging about this. It is a hard one as we know the family. I think looking at the advertisment that was up for the contest originally that I might have assumed that the station had checked into the over consumption of water and found out that so many oz. every 15 mins would keep anything bad from happening. Not everyone watches the news, not everyone heard about the kid that died in Chico from this. No one is informed about everything in the world.

Yes, I think the over hype of the games has created a bunch of kids that feel left out if they do not have the latest and the greatest. Many of these kids parents are also members of the commercialized society. The DJ's are of a generation that tends to lack common sense ( for lack of a better way to say this). I am not saying everyone who bought games this year is in the give me want me club but just as I wanted my camera ( a real give me want me deal) - kids want their game console - and parents want to make their kids happy.

The radio station did what it is in business to do - get listernes involved and get the advertising bucks. I just wonder who provided the game. Who's promo idea was it? When the station is forced to - I am sure we all will know. I would like to think that the DJ's feel guilty but then perhaps it was not in their control either.

Just hope that everybody remembers her kids, her parents, and friends in their prayers.

I so wish I had gotten a good pic like this today LOL. The birds were very non-cooperative today :) I just love the way they almost look like rocks skipping across the water.

I spent so much time playing with all the buttons and Chucks lense that I really did not get any good shots composition wise. On the way home the Egrets kept walking across the road in front of us - just to tease us!

Man o man with the one lense little dots across the field can show up as birds! I am going to post the one that sums up the day and my lack of talent on my blog :)

Someday when things die down - I will go into more detail. But for now - no surprise here. It is sad that the media needs or think they need to - over dramatize, become over invasive, and mislead with the sensational headlines - to get ratings.

If the majority of people stopped watching or stopped reading you think they might change. Perhaps that is what is happening now - I know wishful thinking!

It is hard to define where the right to know ends and the right to privacy begins.

Good for Sticks!

My mom recently gave me the metronome that sat upon the the piano at our house. I hated the dang thing growing up - click, click, click -keeping the time as I watched the clock hoping for the time I had to practice to pass by.

Now it sits atop my computer desk next to the pictures of my Grandparents - a cherished item.

Very nice! I did not see the moon here tonight. Maybe it is because I was inside? LOL Chuck and I went out to take pics of his dog Jamu today. I started uploading the pics to an album I have on the other site and well . ... hours later it is still going and I can not stop it for the life of me :( :0
It took me forever just to load this page. Maybe I will go look for the moon - something to do!

I diffinately draw the line at toilet paper. Although it would not surprise me. I can tell you that in my neighboorhood the rules on toxic waste down the storm drains, excessive noise, gun controls, gutter flooding, trash dumping and such are NOT enforced so I doubt they will be coming for my lightbulbs soon :)

I have done the same thing :( once it lived once it died. I took the battery and the media card (flash type card not sure what ya call it) out and left it open and let it dry out for a day and it came back to life. The other one I think the bang bang around got it long before the water did.

Hope it lives if not - oh I soo hate having to replace phones!

I think that many Mac owners are Mac owners because of the "image" it relays.
In bicycles for example the upper class type business men had to buy a certain brand to "fit" in LOL did not matter that you could get a better bicycle for half the price :)
Image is everything in this day and age it seems.

This is such an outrage! Having been the victim of a porn loop myself when I accidentally hit yes instead of no on a virus scan warning box I have experienced first hand how out of control a computer can get in seconds. Short of turning it off there sometimes is no way out. To assume that a substitute teacher - not savvy in all things computer - should have known what to do - just dumb.

Then the great system of justice has let her down also.

Sucked in by a troll is not a fun experience. The very fact that someone (anyone) posts/comments to/on a blog and places it out there as truth should not mean it is accepted as such.

It is easy when trying to get the "scoop" , attract readers, and keep regulars coming back, to jump in on the band wagon. Blogs using other blogs as sources for information can, and obviously has drawbacks. Yes, there were points that led to a credibility factor but why did someone else's writing/postings become credible? Where did ones own desire to check the facts first get thrown out of the equation?

Taking someone else for a ride auspices of satire and leaving them hanging out to dry is worthy of the troll label. IMHO anyways. Sticking to what one knows best is an easier road to travel. But easy is not as fun now is it? You have always given us the truth here. I rather read a blog that makes an honest mistake every once and a while than one that purposely sets out with a lie.

You get more geek kudos' that override any troll bait poop.

Going backward instead of forward, or, at least it feels that way does suck.
I have been pissed off for months now - especially when something I need is not attainable because there is not money it.
I hear you on that one.

I can not pretend to understand the frustration and all the emotions that would go with having to close the doors on the space your business called home for so long. Not to sound lame but- you have accomplished so much so remember it is the economy not you that is failing at this time.

I am sure that a strong woman as yourself and your loving family will make it work!

But yes, it is a sucko deal and being pissed is so understandable.

I did the everything I owned in a car along with my dog. We were a traveling pair that dog and I. I would never trade the memories of that time but I think I will pass on a redo.

Well, oh yeah - I just feel daffy, all warm and fuzzy that Cheney is gonna rescue us - yeah right.

I cut down my driving to out of state and longer trips along time ago - I have 56,000 miles on a 2004 Toyota and 5,001 one miles on the motorcycle I can no longer ride emmm .... now if I could get that down I would but public transportation sucks around here - scary at times really.

Since Cheney is gonna help me out ha ha I guess I will have to cut down further - Yikes!!!!
